WLS-AM & ABC News, just A LARGE explosion just reported at the UN Building in Baghdad...perhaps 500lb bomb or more..
You're going to have to forgive folks for having the audacity to mention our border situation. Even after 09/11 our borders remain wide open. This bombing is yet another warning that what we are allowing to take place is suicidal. Most of us think about this a number of times per day, yet nobody in leadership thinks it's worthy of discussion, or correction. Frustration will lead people to address this topic constantly until it's fixed. I would advise you to damn the leaders who have refused to fix this, rather than those who constantly harp on the subject.
Sure it's the wrong thread. When is it the right thread? Folks get trashed for addressing this topic on "ANY" thread.

Huh? Relax D1. What I'm saying is, instead of saying no one will discuss the borders when it's brought up (which is what you stated), create a discussion thread TO discuss it. Our border situation may be part of the topic of terrorism as a whole. But it's also an issue of it's own.
I know what your assessment is. And I know where you stand. But don't get pissed when people don't want to discuss *your* topic because they don't feel it's related to the thread topic. For as many posts as I've seen about the border situation, I've only seen one thread of any substance/discussion about it- I believe Sabertooth had one of these last year.

Where did I say "no one will discuss the borders issue when it's brought up"? What I said is that a few malcontents attack when ever and where ever it's brought up.
What do our open borders have to do with a bombing in Baghdad?
Nothing is the answer. They are two separate animals. One does not have to do with the other.
Now, let's address the last part of your post... where you vent your spleen on me because I'm not buying into your agenda...
Here we go,
Our open borders bear very heavily in the terrorist attacks I mentioned. And what's more, you know it.
They do more in the 9/11 attacks and less in the OKC attacks. (Since McVeigh, as an American citizen could come and go as he pleased) I do know that, but I'm talking specifically about today's attack and what's more, you know it.
And that's why I get so damned tired of addressing these issues to people who haven't the honesty to admit there is a serious problem.
You must not be talking to me or rintense because I think we are both in agreement that the borders should be closed and all illegal aliens should be deported post haste.
It seems to be more important to you to play dumb and take anyone to task who expresses consternation regarding our wide open frontier.
Are you consternated? You must be because you have resorted to name calling.
I'm not playing dumb about the borders. They are a real concern,(though sometimes you act as if you are the only one who realizes it and the rest of us don't) Express your consternation regarding our wide open frontier... you can even do it on this thread if you want. I don't care...
But my original post to you was what do our open borders have to do with a bombing in Baghdad. If you were honest, and not trying to promote your "border" agenda, you would have answered nothing, but I want to talk about borders. rintense and I would have become your amen corner.
But you didn't.
I see how it is... when you don't have an answer to a question, just insult the one who asked it.
What do our open borders have to do with a bombing in Baghdad?

Well, if you know the answer to your question, why ask me? I didn't seek to make that connection. You did.
Let me go real slow here. Please point out where I stated our open borders had any bearing on the bombing in Bagdad. I stated that bombing had bearing on our open border situation. There is a difference, whether you are capable of making that distinction or not.

I would remind you that closing our borders to reduce the threat of terrorism isn't "MY AGENDA". It's the goal of millions of United States Citizens. They happen to agree we have something worth protecting here.

Could the John Doe I mentioned?

You know, I get a big kick out of folks who profess to agree with me, then attack anyone who supports that ideology in a place they don't approve of.

Back to this again. Incapable of comprending that my comments were directed at the Baghdad bombing's relevence to our open borders and not the other way around, you have sought to swerve this into never-never land. No sale.
But you didn't.
Amen corner?
