Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, immediately condemned the bombing. "It cannot deter our nation from working with the international community to secure the peace, rebuild Iraq, minimize the burden on our troops, and deliver on the promise of democracy for the Iraqi people," Kennedy said. "These goals can only be achieved by working with our allies and the international community."

My first reaction to the FN bombing video: "not with the children watching" - but then I thought of 911 - the sterilized, limited coverage of the WTC attack - along with the lack of news coverage of Saddam's years of mass-murder, torture and brutality directed against the people who are risking much to help us rebuild their own nation today. We need to know our enemies - and allies.
