Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, immediately condemned the bombing. "It cannot deter our nation from working with the international community to secure the peace, rebuild Iraq, minimize the burden on our troops, and deliver on the promise of democracy for the Iraqi people," Kennedy said. "These goals can only be achieved by working with our allies and the international community."OK Ted, back to the bar.

I am very disappointed with Fox...They aren't much different than the others now and sometimes worse. .... The fair and balanced has turned to a fairly liberal line.Uh? Ever watch "special report?" Or see Tony Snow interview a lefty on "Fox News Sunday?" Ever seen Fred Barnes? Ever seen a green/flag-burner/Al Franken type covered in a positive light on Brit's "Political Grapevine" segment? "Fairly liberal line" my arse.

Inhofe spokesman Ryan Thompson says Inhofe was last heard from shortly before the explosion. They don't know where in Bagdad he was calling from??

No, Inhofe was not traveling with Hutchison, as far as I can tell. This was Hutchison's group:
U.S. Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz; Lindsey Graham, R-SC; Maria Cantwell, D-Wash.; Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Tex.; and John Sununu, R-N.H.; and U.S. Reps. Harold Ford, D-Tenn., and Jim Kolbe, R-Ariz

I'm sorry. It's on FOX news. It's been on for about the past 20 minutes. The reporter/photographer was unbelievably calm.

"They, our adversaries, have studied us and they know the American worship of quick jingoist victories yet total disdain and achilles heel fear of protracted war and guerilla losses" You're probably right about that, but I believe American fear of protracted war changes when terrorism strikes in our homeland.

CNN: 7 Member Senate delegation (which I'm ASSUMING includes Senator Inhofe) is leaving Iraq early and headed to Kuwait.

My first reaction to the FN bombing video: "not with the children watching" - but then I thought of 911 - the sterilized, limited coverage of the WTC attack - along with the lack of news coverage of Saddam's years of mass-murder, torture and brutality directed against the people who are risking much to help us rebuild their own nation today. We need to know our enemies - and allies.
