CRAWFORD, Texas — President Bush pledged yesterday that American forces would be out of Liberia by Oct. 1 as the Liberian government and rebels signed a peace accord to end a bloody three-year insurgency.
"It's short-term," Mr. Bush told Armed Forces Network in an interview he gave Thursday but that was made public yesterday. "We have a special obligation in Liberia to help with humanitarian aid. And therefore we will."

Well you know.
Tonight I listened to Gen. Wesley Clark say that "President Bush took this Country to War on false pretences when he claimed Iraq was an immanent threat"
George W. Bush said this in his SOTU Speech......
"Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option." George W. Bush Jan. 28th, 2003
This makes Gen. Wesley Clark a bald face liar who is willing to slander the Commander-in-Chief in a time of War. I find this disingenuous as well as reprehensible. As much as I respect all who are, or have, served this country in the Military, Gen. Wesley Clark is testing that respect with his remarks as of late.
Christian Science Monitor, August, 19, 2003: "For Clark boosters, the gold-plated résumé makes them stand and salute: first in his class at West Point, Rhodes scholar, 34 years in the military, Vietnam combat veteran, NATO commander. He's also an investment banker and an author - his second book, "Winning Modern Wars: Iraq, Terrorism, and the American Empire," comes out in September."
I reiterate, Gen. Clark is a fraud.
OK. Point taken.
