He has essentially pooled his hopes for the primary run in South Carolina, where he is a native son. But other candidates, such as Rep. Dick Gephardt, are also focusing on that state

The only problem is, the Clinton cabal is probably more responsible for the blackout mess than anyone. According to a career Energy Department staffer, early in his tenure Richardson met with a number of no-growth environmental groups committed to blocking expansion of power resources around the country, including the ceding of land for regional installation of expanded power lines and the like. "He committed the department to not seeking that kind of expansion," says the department staffer. "They even blocked the study of the power grid that [current secretary of energy Spencer] Abraham ordered when he came into office. That study could have been completed more than three years ago."

Catch this news note about the Gov's actions when Energy secretary!!

The blackout will be a major blow to the rats. They will demand investigations ( don't they always? )they will get their investigations. They will get their heads handed to them in these investigations. I can see it now: dirty sandled poor hideous creatures from green peace and earth first, coached by mike farrell, standing up and denouncing President Bush. The rats will lose everthing on this when we trot out chapter and verse of how the enviro wackos have held up every attempt to modernize the grid system.
Game, set match Mr. Bush.

Does Richardson have plans for expanding his political career? It sure seems like he's campaigning to me. I've never seen a State Governor appear so often on TV before in my life. When does he have time to do his job?
