BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Hillary Rodham Clinton, leading in the polls for a presidential nomination she says she isn't seeking, sought Friday to rally young Democratic Party activists bent on ousting President Bush.
The New York senator and former first lady was to be the star attraction on Day 3 of the biennial convention of the Young Democrats of America, being held this year in Buffalo and expected to attract about 850 people.
``Hillary is a symbol of where we were and where we are going,'' said Lauren Worley, executive vice president of the more than 43,000-member group.
``She will meet a lot of eager young people this week who want her to run for president, if not now the in the future certainly,'' Worley added.
The Ohio Democrat said Clinton ``is a personal hero of so many young women who are in politics, like myself.''
Clinton has said she will not seek the party's 2004 nomination, but has not ruled out running for the White House in 2008 or later.
A nationwide poll conducted in June by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute had the New York senator leading all the active contenders for the 2004 nomination, favored by 40 percent of the Democratic voters surveyed. Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut was in second place at 16 percent.
Two candidates for the presidential nomination, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, planned to make appearances at the Young Democrats of America convention on Saturday, the last full day of the gathering.
The other Democratic presidential contenders either weren't coming, sent surrogates or, like Sens. John Kerry of Massachusetts and John Edwards of North Carolina, offered videotaped messages.
``The candidates who are represented here have proven that they take the youth vote seriously,'' said Worley.
Worley said Kerry, Edwards and Lieberman who sent his daughter Rebecca to the convention should be included in that group along with Dean and Kucinich.
The Young Democrats of America is open to any party member under age 36.

I see that the lame stream media has now dropped any pretense of balance and is now just serving as propaganda wing for the left.

Hasn't it got really bad. In the past, at least they used to be more subtle about it.

I just saw on Hannity that Hillary was really bashing President Bush at this convention for young democrats. For the record, John Kennedy Jr. wanted to start up a political organizaiton for young Democrats to rebuild their confidence in politics after the scummy actions of the Clintons. But then alas, his plane crashed into the sea, and HIllary ended up winning the Senate Seat, instead of John Kennedy Jr.
It really seems like she is running for President. Hillary was saying that Bush's administration is the most radical administration ever. What a big lie.
The truth is that Hillary's Presidency was the most radical presidency ever. For one thing, both of the Presidents, ala Hill and Bill are communists. For another thing, these two communists were selling weapons secrets to China for cash for their campaign. Also, this is straight out of the communist handbook, which is the ultimate manipulation, accuse your enemy of what you are doing, so that by the time the truth comes out how radical the Clintons were, it will be a moot point, since they made the charge first.

I have found when I start explaining the concept of the government keeping 30, 40, 50% of every dollar you earn that young Democrats start thinking about jumping ship. Unfortunately the likes of Clinton keep them in the boat by explaining that she favors taking 30, 40, 50% of someone elses dollar.

43,000 members is actually pretty sad. There are more than twice that many
College Republicans. Take heart.
