Just hours after the Northeastern power grid went down shutting off electricity for 50 million Americans, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton took to the airwaves to blame President Bush and his administration's energy policies for pushing deregulation and coddling corrupt power companies like Enron.
"I happen to think that making sure we have a reliable, affordable system of energy is a national priority - and I don't think that this administration sees it that way," Clinton told CNN's "Larry King Live."
"They have continued to try to push deregulation and privatization, and to try to undo a lot of the systems in changes that many of us thought were important and necessary that we tried to work on during the Clinton administration under [Former Energy] Secretary [Bill] Richardson's leadership."
Sen. Clinton also accused the White House of throwing "a lot of roadblocks in the way of [Calif. Gov. Gray] Davis, when he tried to clean up some of the problems that he had with the manipulation of the energy markets by Enron and others."
"So, no," she insisted, "I don't think the federal administration under this president is really focused on making sure we don't have these problems in the future."
Before Clinton phoned in her comments to the King Show, however, Gov. Richardson, now governor of New Mexico, noted that her husband had done little to address the problem during his eight years in office.
"In the Clinton administration, everybody yawned about this, [saying] oh, we don't need to do this. Oh, we don't have a crisis," he told King.

Gore touts technology-based energy policy (6/27/00)"Gore would also convert and repair aging power grids to make them more efficient and less damaging to the environment; promote the use of solar power in homes; offer bonds and tax incentives for fuel-efficient metropolitan transportation such as clean buses and light rail systems, and encourage fuel-efficient 'biomass' technology use by farmers."
Don't flame me here freepers. I don't like Gore. His energy policies depend on utopian power sources that haven't been created or perfected yet, but I found it interesting that he did propose fixing the "aging" power grids. I am looking into this further.

I find it interesting that Richardson is seeing things more and more our way while the beast is still spewing her filth. Maybe Richardson is distancing himself from the Rats and the clintons as well. I think he's come to the realization that the crimes neglect of the clintons are starting to come back to haunt those associated with them.

Though he doesn't want to make too much of it, Rush just mentioned that Richardson's presence on all the morning shows could elevate him to a higher level than otherwise might happen. Also said that Bush's energy folks have been conspicuous by their absence on TV.

Hey folks just replace the word ENERGY with the word HEALTHCARE and you have Hillary repeats herself constistantly.

T'is the possibilty of a President HILLARY in 2004 that has had "ALOHA RONNIE" working full time on line and on Talk Radio/TV to stop this Enemy Within...
...when he could have been otherwise working to save what he has =

I heard Hillary on one of the cable channels early into the blackout. She was speaking on her cellular phone on her way to her Chapaqua house and she explained where she was when the blackout happened. She was "concerned" about her staff and those she was traveling with in New York City.
Her comments were pretty benign, however later in the evening (presuming she arrived at Chapaqua)she was on MSNBC and came out swinging against Bush
My theory is that she huddled with Bill and then did a mini media sweep on all the cable channels last night.
