Nothing like that blow of stinky hot air on a platform as a train arrives in mid-August.
It is a horrible experience down there right now.

Good point, but we are used to shoving our problems onto the long term anyway! :-)

FOX .......When President arrives at convention center in San Diego, he is suppose to comment regarding this event..Don't know why he would comment on a power outage....

Heard reports that over 200,000 plus may be trapped in elevators and subways Can you imagine what those people must be thinking .. not know what is going on?

Countines in PA w/o power are all up on the Lake Erie Corridor.
Homeland Security has denied terror event, this is an accidental event.
Still no reports south of the zone.
All air traffic to NYC is being re-routed to Pittsburgh.
All this is of 1815 EDT.

How long does it have to take for a power company employee, or many of them for that matter, to come forward and say, this is what happened: First A, then B, then C. They knew immediately what happened, why wouldn't you want them to say so?

You're underground so it has to be cooler, plus a subway car is not as claustraphobic
It's not just the heat but the congestion. The subway during rush hour is a nightmare under normal conditions. Each car is filled to capacity. Every inch of space is crammed with bodies. When I lived in NYC I would walk miles before I would go into the subway.

Exactly. That's what the FBI said, and this made them suspicious, they are looking into the possibility of that computer worm causing it. (No mention of possibility of cyberattack)

My favorite scene in that whole movie! Classic!

Thanks, Huckleberry, I was out and haven't read all 1100+ posts yet. I don't want to be a 'fear monger', I want power to be restored. Accidents do happen.
Diddle E., I didn't mean to alarm anyone and I'm not hysterical. Sorry if anyone thought I was monging fear, I'm not about that.
