What will you do?

What you will do, unless, in this case, Arnold really convinces me he is unfit for office, at which point I will go to plan B. But hopefully either 1) McClintock will be in the hunt, or 2) I think Arnold demonstrates that he will be better for California than the status quo, over the long run. This jihad to rush to judgment is what annoys me. It is understandable, but injudicious. In any event, folks will vote with what they know when they vote, not what they know now, so in that sense, this is all moot.

Ok since you didn't respond , I'll ask,

are you for arnold?

are you for simon?

are you for McClintock?

I'm for arnold, but as I said, if he falters I will support the leader of the republican candidates.

my challenge, is to see who will put aside disapointment
if their candidate falters in the race, & vote for the leader of the republican candidates.

So which candidate is your preference now, & if that candidate falters will you vote for the leader of the republican candidates?

I'll hold my cards until then. I want candidates to commit to positions before I commit my vote, even on contingency.

I'm unconvinced, as yet, about Arnold. I feel better about him than I did a few days ago, but I need to know a lot more about his positons, etc.

I have responded now to this question to what seems like Billion, and Billions of times, ala Carl Sagan. My candidate is McClintock. If at the end, he is not in the hunt, unless Arnold disappoints me (a quite possible possibility, but perhaps not a liklihood), I will vote for him, unless Bustamante is the clear front runner, in which event I will vote against the recall. Does that help?

To be fair, Torie is one of the more level headed posters on here, and will do the right thing eventually (even though *she* is completely wrong this time, and must've taken up drinking in her Pentagon office [couldn't resist, LOL]).

So did Dana Rohrabacher yesterday---hardly a Rino.

I heard Dana Rohrabacher on Sean Hannity's radio show Friday. He was very positive about Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Sorry it took a while to get back.

Multitasking.. looking for the latest nvidia drivers etc

My point is whoever your guy is, when the time comes, if the polls are against him then vote for the strongest republican candidate so we get the rats out!

You live in what is without a doubt, the most liberal State in the Union, and there’s a reason WHY California is that way…the voters there are that way

There's no way that enough of those voters in California are ready to hear your message, they put those programs in place themselves by way of their elected officials. The people who use those programs will vote against you, the elderly will vote against it, the people who make a living providing those services will vote against you.

There is no way McClintock will win this race, even if Arnold steps down, and it has nothing to do with anything more than the ideological make-up of the average voter in California at this time. Not at this time anyway.

Don’t be surprised if you find you words quoted on some lefty rag about the evil right-wingers always punishing the poor and the old.

"Children don't need…after-school programs!" – "the elderly already have a program...it's called WORK!"

On TV, they’ll have lots of pictures of scared little kids alone at home waiting for Mommy or Daddy to come home from work, and of skinny, miserable-looking old people sitting in barren rooms.

"Those evil right-wingers..."

My goal is to get the Illegals out. I'll make the vote on October 7th that has the highest likelihood of achieving that end.

Kemp will endorse Simon again.

Oh SURE he will. Get real!!! Who in their RIGHT mind would endorse a guy who LOST to Davis?? Good grief!! Beating Davis SHOULD have been a PIECE of cake!!! That SIMON lost is a disgrace. Kemp would BE NUTS to endorse him. That SIMON even FILED THIS TIME, after losing THE LAST time is a joke OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS!!!

It's sad to see many loyal Freepers cast as RINOs 'cause they support Arnold.

Agree!! Those of us who are inclined to think we need to get behind a viable name and candidate that can win in such a short time span, are not RINO's and to resort to PETTY name calling is childish and serves NO ONE. We actually base our decision on things like a candidate who has actually been politically inclined for quite some time, has had management experience on a large scale (*I wonder if "worldwide qualifies) has been a republican for decades and has supported many republican causes. He has been appointed by a Republican President to commissions for Children, and ran a Statewide campaign for after care for kids. Not to mention one nationwide for aftercare. He can promote the state, and has an degree in Economics.

He is a successful Businessman, and has never failed in any business endeavor he has undertaken.

He is married to a Kennedy, which cannot hurt in a liberal state like California.

He has already recieved the endorsement of the man who started the recall Rep. Issa, Newt Gingrich, Pete Wilson, and even President Bush has said he would make a great Governor.

Thats all off the top of my head.

He said he doesn't need the President to come here to campaign for him, nor does he think the Clintons need to come here for Davis. It ain't there business.. its California's business!!!

I think he can handle the Clintons!! I think the Dems are shaking in their boots. What they gonna do? Slam the Kennedy's? I can just see Maria Kennedy Shriver SCHWARZENEGGER refuting them. So tell me that wouldn't be a match made in heaven!! (Something tells me they won't show now that Maria is in the picture!) Did you see Davis ASKING them to come the other day on TV here? It was pathetic!

I just said all this from off the top of my head. So once Arnold gets his position papers out there with his solutions for bringing BIG BUSINESS back in, and stopping the exodus of business and people from leaving this state, and fixing the states energy problems, YOU ARE GOING TO SEE SOME MAJOR bu** kicking in political terms.

Trust me.. this is going to be good!!

From what I've seen so far.. I'm extremely impressed!

Arnold didn't just decide a month ago to run for office. This is something he has been looking into for a decade or so.

He married into a political family. Yet he remained a republican because he felt people should not rely on government to do EVERYTHING for them. HIS WORDS.

I will find the quote. But it is his.

Like I said,.. after reading up on the man for a few years..and especially the past couple days, he is a good choice. He IS ELECTABLE in California.

FRegards Drango!! And again, Thanks for pointing out that just because we are making a decision to vote for a moderate republican that CAN be elected in California.. it doesn't mean we are RINO's. It's a shame some Republicans can't see why we keep losing California of late. Some of us can see the benefit of us having a republican governor! We need change! NOW!!

Nice speech...but factually incorrect...almost TWENTY PERCENT of CA voters are registered INDEPENDENTS... and the Independent voters are the deciding factors in CA elections. From 1967 until 1999 only one Democrat was in the governor's seat...And the current governor only won by 5 percent...In fact in the last ten years the GOP has gained a majority of 22 counties while the Dimwits have lost a majority in those counties...That's right, in just ten years the GOP has gained a majority of registered voters from 13 to 35 counties. No, I am afraid you have been watching too much left wing media propaganda on CBS,NBC and ABC...
