FReepers present at the event

The Hillary "Lying History" book signing tour came to town today, and we did our best to make her feel unwelcome and to get the word out that there's a lot of history Hillary would just as soon people not know.
After coming to a late realization that this event was happening, we quickly pulled together a good group of FReepsers for a the Monday 11-1:30 event (a tough time for the working class like us).
Thanks to a media fax blast by Doctor Raoul, I got a 5:30AM call on my cell phone from WSB 750AM, a 50,000W talk radio station in Atlanta, which is also Neal Boortz's home station. Fortunately, the phone was *not* bedside, so I returned the call at a slightly more civilized hour and arranged to be interviewed at 7:50AM this morning. I thought the interview went well; as soon as it was over, my phone was ringing. A client called: "I just heard you on the radio! That was great!" Businesspeople "get" our message.
We started arriving on-site for the FReep at 10AM; I was first. The history of these event is that there has been a "devil" following Hillary to several of these events. The esteemed Doctor Raoul and Ron Dog have led the charge in this department. I humbly followed in their footsteps, and thus we have this:
Yes, that is yours truly under there.

Help me out here - I didn't get a FReeper username for our "ghost writer".
Finally, Only1choice____Freedom came by on his lunch hour and took a bunch of pictures. I'll link them in later.
We were set up on the sidewalk in front of the Barnes and Noble, about 60-70' from the line. I checked in with the local APD, who thanked me for letting them know we were there, and said he was "with us". Another cop who came over to talk with us later said the same.
We had a number of interesting "interactions" with some of the liberals, the worst of which we responded to with the "Mean spirited! Arrogant! Condescending! Liberal!" chant. I'll let some of the others provide details here.
Media folks who interviewed us on-site included:
WSB TV ABC 2
Fox TV 5
CBS TV 46
WSB Radio 750 AM
WGST Radio 640 AM
96 Rock 96.1 FM
Z93 92.9 FM
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Northside Neighbor Newspapers
I'm recording the local news on 2 and 5 right now on the TiVo, we'll see if we get anything. There's been a big car crash on I-285, there's a lot of coverage of that.
We had a great location on Peachtree Street, a major 6-lane artery near a business district. I'd say our ratio of "thumbs up" to "thumbs down" (or worse) was 8:1 or 10:1. Several folks walking by stopped to thank us for being there. We got especially big waves and honks from some woodland camo-clad soldiers who drove by, and they got big waves and thanks back from us.
That's it for now, will add more later.

RE: Television News coverage.
I just viewed all the coverage on television news. Here is a synopsis:
Ch 2, WSB. Black woman newsreader with the orange hair (I'm not kidding) did the usual gushing over Hitlery. They mentioned our protest and showed footage. Clear shots of our signs. I'd have to rate this positive, as our message got out.
Ch 5, FOX. A pretty reasonable report. The reporter on the scence was obviously pro Hitlery. They did show an interview with Freedomposter where he hammered our theme that Hitlery has a lot of things in her past that she would rather people not remember. Showed brief clips of us. Signs could barely be read.
Ch 11, NBC? Blatently gushing report. Did not record it. I think they showed a few segments of us though.

That's Monica Kaufman. Local news legend. I'm told by an old neighbor, who used to sell advertizing for WSB, that she has no control over what her hair looks like. The station just does what it will with it, for ratings. I'm not making this up.

With all do respect to Dad the daughter holding the "GOT BILL" sign could be the new Free Republic Belly Girl with the right t-shirt on.

WOW!!!! Your lefties look like clones of the ones here in Atlanta?!!!! How is that?
You just sold me on violating my self imposed prohibition against eletronic gadget (I sometimes wish I had lived in a simpler age). Guess I'll go buy a digital camera. I'd really love to have been able to post photos of the crazy feminazis who were screeching. They were scary.
when my daughter gets home tonight, I'll ask her to post her account of the incident with the abortion wacko. She has more details than I.

Hundreds line up at bookstore to get Hillary's signature
By TOM BAXTER Atlanta Journal-Constitution Staff Writer
Debra Washington of West Palm Beach, Fla., took her place at the front of the line to get an autographed copy of Sen. Hillary Clinton's book before the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Buckhead closed Sunday night.
By the time Washington left the Peachtree Road store Monday morning, triumphantly holding two copies of "Living History," Clinton's autobiography, the line of autograph seekers snaked out into the parking lot.
Washington, an airline employee in Atlanta on business, said she'd read about half of the former first lady's book, and was "very inspired by her courage."
Denise Boesel, of Atlanta, also got to the book store Sunday night, with her 8-year-old daughter, Maya, who lives in Munich, Germany, and is visiting her mother. She said wanted her daughter to see Clinton because she was "a great role model for women," a comment repeated often by those in line.
"She got through some very difficult times with dignity, and I can certainly appreciate that," Boesel said.
Sarah-Elizabeth Langford, the daughter of former state Sen. Arthur Langford, was in line with her grandmother.
About eight demonstrators were on hand to protest Clinton's appearance.
"We want to put out the message that there's a lot of history she doesn't want us to know about," said Jim Riticher, who wore a devil suit and carried a sign that said, "I sold my soul to Hillary."
The New York senator signed copies of her memoir for only about an hour and a half -- from 11 to 12:30 today. But Barnes & Noble employees say they are already more people waiting in line than will get an autograph. The bookstore was closed while Secret Service agents swept the area. Visitors had to go through a security screening before meeting the first lady.

The Kimmer is Kim Peterson. He has a pretty good talk show in the afternoons. I used to listen to him every afternoon but the station went classic rock and now I can't get him.
