FReep Report - Hillary Booksigning at the Buckhead (Atlanta) Barnes & Noble

The Hillary "Lying History" book signing tour came to town today, and we did our best to make her feel unwelcome and to get the word out that there's a lot of history Hillary would just as soon people not know.

After coming to a late realization that this event was happening, we quickly pulled together a good group of FReepsers for a the Monday 11-1:30 event (a tough time for the working class like us).

Thanks to a media fax blast by Doctor Raoul, I got a 5:30AM call on my cell phone from WSB 750AM, a 50,000W talk radio station in Atlanta, which is also Neal Boortz's home station. Fortunately, the phone was *not* bedside, so I returned the call at a slightly more civilized hour and arranged to be interviewed at 7:50AM this morning. I thought the interview went well; as soon as it was over, my phone was ringing. A client called: "I just heard you on the radio! That was great!" Businesspeople "get" our message.

We started arriving on-site for the FReep at 10AM; I was first. The history of these event is that there has been a "devil" following Hillary to several of these events. The esteemed Doctor Raoul and Ron Dog have led the charge in this department. I humbly followed in their footsteps, and thus we have this:

We were set up on the sidewalk in front of the Barnes and Noble, about 60-70' from the line. I checked in with the local APD, who thanked me for letting them know we were there, and said he was "with us". Another cop who came over to talk with us later said the same.

We had a number of interesting "interactions" with some of the liberals, the worst of which we responded to with the "Mean spirited! Arrogant! Condescending! Liberal!" chant. I'll let some of the others provide details here.

I'm recording the local news on 2 and 5 right now on the TiVo, we'll see if we get anything. There's been a big car crash on I-285, there's a lot of coverage of that.

We had a great location on Peachtree Street, a major 6-lane artery near a business district. I'd say our ratio of "thumbs up" to "thumbs down" (or worse) was 8:1 or 10:1. Several folks walking by stopped to thank us for being there. We got especially big waves and honks from some woodland camo-clad soldiers who drove by, and they got big waves and thanks back from us.

Freep report:

Folks, this is my first ever freep! Heck, this was the first time I ever protested anything!

Hitlery was scheduled to start at 11:00. Freedomposter got there early, about 10:00, and I got there at around 10:30. Freedomposter was wearing a devil’s mask with scary horns, and waved a large white gloved hand. He had something of a “do rag” on top, tied in the back. Note there was no resemblance to Michael Jackson. Along with me were my oldest daughter and son, each of us with two signs. Apple Pan Dowdy showed up next with a cool sign. She was followed by a freeper named something like Blomntn who arrived around 11:00 and her husband. Blomntn had a great couple of signs. I hope they will be posted soon. Her husband used a sheet and posed as a ‘ghost writer’ who isn’t allowed to give his name, and works only for peanuts.

Initially there was some excitement in the air. The cops were a little tense, always looking around. Hitlery’s sheep stood in line, waiting for the slaughter. Some had been there from the night before, no less. There must have been several hundred of them and the crowd was about 80% female. We did our freeping from the sidewalk in front of the strip mall on public property at a street corner that had a traffic light. So, people had to slow down driving past. Many got a good look at our signs. Freedomposter linked up with the police and told them we were going to be peaceful.

Around 11:00 an ambulance came to the Barnes and Noble, where the book signing took place, some 300 feet away from us. He used lights and siren. Call me suspicious, but I was wondering if Hitlery was trying to sneak in via an ambulance. This turned out to not be the case. One wag speculated that someone fainted upon viewing Hitlery’s thighs. We were practicing our slogans in preparation for HER HEINOUS going past us, but alas, all in vain because Hitlery slithered in through the back door of Barnes & Noble at about 11:10, according to one of the sheep who attended the signing.

Folks, we had great fun and great company. Another ambulance ran by, then later on a fire truck with lights and siren pulled into the strip mall. Someone speculated that Hitlery had rappelled down a rope ladder from the helicopter circling overhead and that her pantsuit had caught on fire from the friction. Then someone else, who probably follows these matters closer than I, said no, that couldn’t be her because the pantsuit is fire resistant. So anyway, we got fired up from the speculation, and started chanting…

LIAR, LIAR, PANTSUIT ON FIRE

…once the sheep started cheering Her Heinous.

Around 11:30, some guy showed up with a sign saying the IRS should be abolished. Liked his message, but he wasn’t a freeper and was a bit strange, so we didn’t have much to do with him. Around 12:00, another protester showed up, positing that Clinton had killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s. Not sure what that was about. About this time Only1choice______freedom showed up and chatted with us. Nice meeting you guy. Our best recollection is that the following media outlets either interviewed us or taped us: CBS46, Channel 2 (ABC?), Fox 5, WSB TV, WSB Radio, WGST Radio, Z93 radio, 96 Rock and Neighbornewspapers? Many thanks to a great freeper, (whose name shall remain anonymous, but is a great American), for the media announcements. A guy named ‘Kimmer’ a local talk show personality walked by and thanked us for freeping Hitlery. He said ‘you guys are great Americans, thanks, and Semper Fi.” So stay tuned to the 5:00 news folks.

Ok, here are the run-ins we had with clueless liberals. Allow me to set the stage: Buckhead is the most trendy, expensive suburb in Georgia. Property taxes and the cost of living are very high in this area, so anyone driving a non late model SUV or BMW, LEXUS or whatever, is immediately identified as ‘working class filth,’ and subject to the scorn of the liberal elite.

When we first started, we were cased by an androgynous skinny looking male with effete features, thin rimmed glasses and dark hair. He walked up and down past us several times, and took photographs. After he cased us, he stood off some 50 feet away, just monitoring us. Personally, I think he had the hots for Satan (Freedomposter).

My son held a sign that said ‘HONK IF YOU THINK HILLERY SHOULD NEVER BE PRESIDENT.’ This sign generated a lot of honking from passing cars and supporting cheers from truck drivers who were making their deliveries. He also a got a few fingers from SUV driving, cell phone talking, soccer moms who happened to disagree with our position. My son, who is only 15, learned a valuable lesson from all of this: The peace and love crowd does not love or want to be peaceful with those whom they disagree. Funny, but you can spot these people miles away. Another thing we noticed is that about 65% of all vehicles were driven by someone talking on a cellphone. Among the liberal elite, that number was up around 85%.

About 11:30, a nutcase feminazi was trying to turn into the mall to get her little autograph. As she had to wait in line for traffic to clear, she started shrieking all sorts of things at us. I guess she just couldn’t tolerate dissenting views. So when she started shrieking, we all took up the chant…

MEAN SPIRITED, ARROGANT, CONDESCENDING LIBERAL

…well, this really got her furious. She wanted to dish it out, but couldn’t take the response. She got so angry that she sped up and almost hit the car in front of her. We then started chanting…

2, 4, 6, 8, HITLERY IS FULL OF HATE

At about 11:45, a short, stocky, woman with a very short haircut came out to her car. We had noticed that her rear bumper sticker said, ‘Prochoice.’ She took umbrage with my son’s sign what said ‘America cannot trust another Clinton.’ She started ranting and raving at us. Out of the blue she said, ‘I’ll bet you’re for killing abortion doctors.’ Ok, so where did this come from? So my son replied, “…and I guess you are for killing babies?” This woman clearly had some, ahem, issues, and screeched, “don’t even talk to me if you don’t have a uterus!” Wow! This,…thing … was so out of touch. So, we again took up the chant…

MEAN SPIRITED, ARROGANT, CONDESCENDING LIBERAL

Well, she about had an apoplectic fit! My daughter went against her father’s caution and yelled to her for her to go back to her trailer. She got so angry that again, she almost ran into the car in front of her. These people really need to control their anger, sheeeesh!

Folks, below is the one event though, that tells you all about liberals. I was standing at the end of the line, shooting the breeze with a black guy, about how great it is to live in Atlanta, how it’s so much better than the Northeast, where both of us had previously resided. The guy was a working class guy, just like me and we were having fun talking to each other, just to pass the time. He probably disagreed with my politics, though he never really mentioned anything political. Well, a heavy set, feminine acting older white man came up to us and interrupted our conversation. He told the black guy that he shouldn’t be talking to me because I lived up in _______, GA and the KKK was marching there as recently as 10 years ago. Folks, I’m not making this up! Here you have a classic case of a white liberal telling a black guy what he should think! I wouldn’t have believed it, had I not seen it with my own eyes.

Most of the Hitlery lovers glared at us as they passed by. I’d usually ask how are they doing, or ask them if they got a signed book. About 30% would ignore me, 20% would reply rudely, and the rest would talk politely.

Toward the end, a thin, white, feminine, emaciated (hmmmmmm, what’s up with that?) guy started getting really worked up arguing with my son. Don’t these guys have anything better to do?

OK, just watched channel 2 (WSB) and Channel 5. Both channels reported our protest. Channel 5 showed my two signs with freerepublic.com on the bottom. So hey, we got our media exposure.

We wrapped it up around 1:20 and adjourned to a local mall for some refreshments and good ole freeper camaraderie. Folks, it was a glorious day. My kids and I had a wonderful time!
