Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

I haven't told you before. But I'm glad for the PING's, and glad for the good news about the wee bairn.

I share your concerns. "The Boy", who just turned six, suffered a traumatic birth - albeit nowhere NEAR what you've seen.

Analogously speaking, I'm in the ballpark watching the game, but I'm up in the nosebleed seats and not in the dugout.

Keep reading the posts - you will draw untold strength from your FRiends.

Wonderful, wonderful news each time there is an update!

Won't be long, Gramma of Brad, before you wing your way to see Our Boy...

Observing the heated um.. ongoing 'discussions' between You and You-Know-Who, do not forget you have a distinct advantage, BG.

Babies hone in on soft, tender voices crooning to them, and he'll love it when you hold him and deliver a sweet, sweet song.

By contrast, imagine the voice a 'Certain Cowboy' must have, used to bellowing instructions from atop his gas rigs!!
Oh, up until now he has probably managed a quieter, softer tone talking to and with Logan, and a song or two - - but engaged in competition with you, will he perhaps revert to WELL MAN??!!

You betcha, and YOU WILL WIN UNLIMITED TIME with Logan!

(never underestimate the power of a determined woman...)

Hey, Sarge!
It's so very good to see you!

There's more power on this thread than the human mind can conceive.
So many good people have come forth to cry with us and pray with us since this thread started, and so many more that we nothing about.
We're all no more and no less than a servant of God asking for His love and grace.
He has answered our prayers.

"Babies hone in on soft, tender voices"

Logan likes rough, manly voices!
We sing the Marine Corps Hymn as a duet!

(He also likes the Longhorn fight song, but we won't go there, Nana)

Prayers for Little Logan. When my wife was born she weighed 2.2 lbs. We've been married now almost 27 years and she is the light of my life. Life is a wonderful thing.

LOL. I have three granddogs..and I do mean grand! Big ole hounds. And my daughter has an extremely nasty grandkittie who slashes and hisses when you try to pet or feed her. My son has two "rescue" kitties, one so shy he's never come out from the closet or under the couch when I visit, the other so forward that she steals stuff out of my purse and stews it around the room. How did I get so lucky?
