If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

Nana, he looks so nice and pink in that last photo. I take that as a good sign that he is oxygenating well, (I think I just created a new word, oxygenating) and he's so plump!
I'll be up late tonight so I will be on watch, so to speak, in prayers. Give Logan a big kiss for us, Praise God for His goodness.
To: TexasCowboy
Praise You, Lord Jesus, for keeping this baby in Your amazing care.
Logan, you get more handsome with every picture. Bless you, Mommy, and all that surround you there and here with constant prayer. You are one loved little boy.

Thanks for the update. Poor little Logan has been through a lot. Glad he's got those painful hernias fixed.
The pictures are adorable! He's starting to look like a regular newborn now, isn't he?
To: TexasCowboy
See, I knew if I checked one last time there would be something. Please rest well Logan. Stay calm. You are on your way you sweet little baby. You are on your way home with Mommy and Daddy. Nana will wait for you, you are so lucky and you are so worthy of all of this love.

Great news! He looks so good. He is really filling out.
To: TexasCowboy
Thank you very much for the update. I really appreciate knowing how he is doing. I am so glad that he is doing as well as he is, maybe now that he will be free from so much pain, he will do even better.
It is so heartwarming to hear of the special bond between Logan and his mom. I pray for the day when she can hold him whenever she wants, for as long as she wants. And for the day when Logan is a toddler and climbs up on mom's lap for cuddles.
Thanks again for the update.

Oh My!! .. Look how big he is getting!!
I'm sure he's not a happy camper at the moment. But before long he'll be home with his mommy and daddy and staring in their eyes all day long.

Billie Holidays song "Dem their Eyes" comes to mind in the first pic.
Following Logan urged me to go take all my sons baby pics and books apart and make a wall mural.
He started out 24yrs ago as a sick baby and even though he has been a quad with severe cerebral palsy since he has been more active in life than most "healthy kids".
Love is a wonderful thing, ain't it?
You go termite. We continue to pray for you and your family.
Thanks to all the helpers who have kept us updated on Nana's letters. You Rock!

"He's finally getting that baby fat!" Uhhhh............Logan and I have talked about this.
He'd much prefer that you refer to his weight gain as "baby muscle".
To: TexasCowboy
My, 0, MY....he has really gotten big and filled out so beautifully. I really do feel part of his family and have such joy hearing the good news. When things are not so good...I suffer for him. Prayers are a wonderful thing, and they are obviously working here. God bless you all......

Sorry, I missed one pic.
Here you can see the little cast thingie they put on his foot to turn it back in.
"See my taped up foot!" 9-24-03
I tell you folks, I've got three kids and five grandkids, but I've never learned as much about little babies as I have since I met Logan.
The care of the little preemies is a whole new world.
I'm constantly amazed and humbled by watching the diligence, devotion and genuine love the doctors and nurses have for these tiny babies.
Thank you, God, for giving us people like these.

A picture supposedly speaks a thousand words so here go 2,000 words for the miracle we are witnessing before our very eyes ......
O Lord, we thank You, the Author of life, for all Your creation and especially for this wee one we have all come to love and cherish. And we thank You for the faith of all those who have prayed for him and his family. The fellowhip of believers is like no other and through this tiny babe You have brought together many diverse people in a community of love and prayer and, yes, great rejoicing at the progress Logan has made.
We thank You for encouraging Logan's family and letting us encircle them with love even from long distances. We thank You for the compassion and the skill of the medical professionals .... and for those who came before them who were inspired to develop the equipment and the techniques used to help this precious infant and others like him.
Father, Your mercy and Your goodness are beyond our comprehension. Your greatness is too deep and too high for us to fathom. We praise Your name and pray that this tiny life will continue to be a great witness to You, the Lord God Almighty. Amen.

I think this is God's way of saying, "Behold, my miracle - baby Logan!"

Get your rest lil one, you've had a long day.
I'm sorry you have had to go thru so much pain and suffering.
But it will make you a stronger person in life.
