Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

:) agree. He is a special little boy and it’s a pleasure to see him growing and developing and in spite of everything he went through...from the time we could see him smile...that’s ALL he’s done. Smiles from one ear to the other. A lot of adults could take lessons from this one little boy. :)

He just keeps getting cuter..a-hem...I mean more handsome!

You'd better mean that. Logan is handsome, he's debonair, and ruggedly good looking too. But he's not CUTE. He a man, a little one, but a man nonetheless.

I knew it. I knew it.

He's already practicing for his run for, and execution of, the office of President under the Restored Constitution for the United States. Of course first he'll have to restore that Constitution, but he's the man who can do 'er.

He's got the Presidential wave down pat already. His technique seems to borrow a lot from George W. Bush. Not surprising, as until the lamentable events of November 2008 and January 2009, that GWB was the only President he knew, first hand that is.

I somehow ended up here after searching for info on something or other... What a lovely photo, especially considering your original post on this thread. Best wishes to you and the little ones. It reminds me of my nephews and their little cousins.

LOL!!! I'm not EVEN going to ask! :)

Pinging Logan's Nana or Nanee or whatEVER he's calling her these days!

Pretty neat testament of prayer, isn't it. Did you scroll up a bit and see the pictures of he and his new *sister*? (She's his cousin...he WANTS her to be a sister....)

YEs, I did see the pics. I for some reason had always wondered what Montessori schools were, and went searching for them. Somehow ended up clicking to see more about it, somehow clicked on your thread... Weird turn of events. VERY GLAD Logan turned up healthy and happy (and loving to other little ones). Best wishes. Sorry for late reply...

An email, from Logan's Nana, asking you all to pray...

“There's a family I know that is going through something that is ripping their hearts out. A grandfather and his wife have raised a little boy for 5 years. They were given the baby when he was born because the mother (the GF’s daughter) was on drugs. Conner had drugs in his system at the time of his birth. Through the years, the mother has “called on occasion” and the father has seen him for a couple of hours every 3-4 months. Now because the father doesn't like paying a VERY small amount of child support, he has taken it to court to try and gain custody of this child. Adding to the impossible situation, the mother now says she wants him! She has no job and lives with some relative and is NOT drug free. The father works out of the country and only comes home every 90 days, so the little one would live with his parents that Conner doesn't even know!

The courts have ordered a mental evaluation on Conner and he is to stay put for 90 days while this is going on.

We need big time prayers for Conner, and for the Grandfather and Grandmother who have given their life and love to this little boy.

We've see what the power of prayer can do........ and once again, we desperately need a miracle. I've watched the court system and with no concern for the well being of these children, be given back to parents who for whatever reason decide later that they now want them. What about the little one? Who cares about him? What will his life be like taken from the only security he's ever known?
Think we can work a miracle in 90 days??? I hope so!

Help please!!"

I can understand and am sorry for your pain.

I had not been to this thread in ages. The picture of Logan in post #13,784 Reminds me so much of my grandson - in the center!

What a pathetic; sad situation. Prayers ‘up’ for Connor. Pray his parents love him enough to ‘let him be’; and if possible; raise him without any financial help from Father. ‘Let him; and his Mother go’. . .Think forced ‘payments’ can wreak as much pain and suffering as no ‘child support’ at all. Cut the financial bonds; save for what he is willing to contribute; and ‘whenever’. IMHO.

This breaks my heart as it is very close to what we have spent the last 9 months in court with. Grandparents have no rights, even when they have been the de-facto parents.

Our case did not end particularly well.

I will pray for them.
