DON'T EXPECT Arnold Schwarzenegger to stroll into California's governor's mansion.

Why? He is too much of a celebrity, and has too much charisma.

Despite what you've been told, Californians no longer want charismatic celebrities as their governor. At least they haven't for the past six gubernatorial elections spanning two decades.

[Californians have] consistently rejected flamboyance in favor of grayness.

Not this time... Gray out in 2003!

Arnold will demonstrate more leadership, stature, managerial competence in 60 days

than Grey Sewerwater has since birth.

This article, IMHO, is hogwash.

More people want NONpoliticians than anything else--if the nonpolitician can demonstrate IQ, horse sense and a commitment to overhaul government.

**DON'T EXPECT Arnold Schwarzenegger to stroll into California's governor's mansion**

The reporter should know that California's *Governor's Mansion* is a museum. No one has lived in the mansion since before Jerry Brown.

Now the Capitol Building is another matter...

California "true conservatives" must be really getting eager to say the words "Governor Bustamonte".

Nothing encapsulates the change more than Proposition 13, approved by the voters in 1978 as Jerry Brown's first term came to a close.

JMO, Mr. Freedburg, but this recall is the progeny of Prop. 13.

It is the people of California who are giving the boot to your precious wonk Davis.

California deserves good managerial leadership from a tried and true leader. This article is sure to cause supporters of Termite the Terminator some consternation but the author does have a point.

This guy's argument might hold water if someone charismatic had run against the last three governors. Just think about who their opponenets were.

Can't remember? My point exactly.

...voters have consistently chosen governors so boring you'd think twice about inviting them to a dinner party.

I see the SFGate is sticking with their usual method of vetting candidates for public office.

Arnold owns over 100 companies; made his money first not in movies but in taking over a failing gym and making it a profit center. He is a very astute businessman; perhaps he doesn't know as much about government as the wonks, but per Mark Steyn, the government wonks have produced a $38 BILLION state budget deficit and if the government "wonks" ran Silicon Valley and Hollywood, we'd still be using the abacus and watching silent films.

That began to change in the late 1970s, when voters began tiring of big government...

This guy's kidding, right?
