Harley Sorensen: Losing without class
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | Monday, August 11, 2003 | Harley Sorensen

Today I want to write about conservatives, Republicans, sore losers and dirty low-down skunks. Or am I repeating myself?

Whenever I criticize our current president, which I am inclined to do from time to time, I get a flood of e-mails from conservatives saying, "Yeah, but how about Bill Clinton?"

They've never accepted Brown v. Board of Education (ending public school segregation), and they've established a broad network of "Christian" schools which, combined with white flight to the suburbs, effectively do an end run around Brown.

What an @ss!

Christian schools have been around long before Brown and have only grown popular because the government schools have proved to be such a failure.

But liberals know this. That is why Clinton, Kennedy, and the like all send their kids to private white schools.

I especially like the part about school segration. Who champions the ONLY public segregated school in the US, Harvey Milk?

Gracious or not, they are still losers.

We'll see who is gracious when Davis is knocked from power.

But there is such a thing as grace in defeat.

This is what Richard Nixon demonstrated when JFK stole the 1960 election.
This is what Al Gore did not demonstrate when he conceded, then reneged in 2000.

Leftists are mentally ill. I'm convinced that they hate themselves and their supporters. They examine their own worst characteristics, then accuse their opponents of having those characteristics. Transference at its best.

Besides, why should Republicans give up money they earned by exploiting others?

Marxist talking point. Throw in the straw man analogy and you have first class stupidity in thsi statement. Who exactly are these Republicans, who were the exploited and how did they get exploited.

The day Clinton was sworn in for his first term, the conservatives were sporting bumper stickers calling for his impeachment. It's a fact.

Gee I guess I missed this one. Besides, this is another straw man fallacy. Who exactly were these conservatives?

The barf alert is implied with Morford and Sorensen articles.

BTW, I think Mroford has finally been comitted. He's missed his last two deadlines.

Vince Lombardi was a great football coach but a second-rate philosopher. He was wrong when he said, "Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing."

WOW, talk about being in denial!! Lockstep rat voting has been their only hope since they lost the Senate in '94. If winning isn't everything why all the dead bodies, witness intimidation, "out of country" subpoenas, billion dollar fortunes spent on campaigning, bussed in and paid for demonstrators, months and months of campaign finance reform arguments, millions of hours of research into voter fraud, etc., etc.??

Lombardi was right, ask Reno and Gore!!

PS- Hey Sorensen, when X42i finally shuts his pie hole and behaves himself, maybe we'll stop reminding the world what a corrupt POS he is.

They've never accepted Roe v. Wade (which made abortion legal), and they're determined to get it overturned some day, by hook or by crook.

Yes, we really are pathetic, aren't we?

The Roe v. Wade arguement doesn't fly with me because now even the woman involved in this landmark Supreme Court case doesn't support the right to abortion.

The conservatives just can't get over it. Clinton is history, yet they revive him at every opportunity. "How about Bill Clinton?" they ask, ignoring the fact that he's no longer president, no longer a fit target for their invective.

Over the next 30 years or so, and probably longer, much much more will be revealed about his actions against American interests. Starting w/ Loral and China and eventually working it's way into James Riady's Indonesian Money and Coal deals, just for starters.Honesty and being straight-forward have never been part of his character. One could actually put forth a good argument against his reciting the Presidential Oath publicly 2 times on National TV. Knowing what we know now,how can we possibly believe he meant these words: "...preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." There's no way that's possible. When more truths are revealed about his treachery towards America, which is absolutely inevitable, Bill "I am as fake a human as they come" Clinton will still remain a target of my commentary.Invective? Nahhhh, the truths about this guy are much simpler to point out.(However, someone uttering his name in my presence can cause invectives to be spoken at any given time. LOL)

Clinton is history

If Bill Clinton is History, why do I still have to hear his commentary on the issues,George W.Bush, his worldwide trips and see his mug on TV on a regular basis, hmmm?

Let me get this straight... Sorensen is dumb enough to admit that the Supreme Court made up a new law in Roe v. Wade. That is a tactit admittal that the so-called "right" to abortion is not in the Constitution, but rather just a spot of judicial activism.
