Another loser enters the race. If at first you run a crappy campaign, try, try again.

This is REALLY disappointing Simon's entry shows that his ego is more important to him than the future of the state:
- If you want a conservative, you have a much more credible one with actual experience in office in McClintock. Simon's entry dilutes McClintock, doesn't hurt the Dems at all, and could hurt Arnold a lot.
- If you're willing to take a chance as a conservative on a moderate Republican who will grow in offfice, as I think Arnold will, you stay out and take that chance. As soon as Arnold declared, Riordan stayed out for this very reason. But Bill Simon--NOOOO.
- Bill Simon is more willing to take the huge chance that a Dem sneaks in because moderates and the right divide themselves a hundred ways. He can't win; he shouldn't have entered; he should run for Congress in his district if it's held by a Dem, especially if it's the one the despicable Loretta Sanchez represents, or he should just get the hell out of the way.

CA conservatives had better wake up and smell the coffee, or they'll see another Dem replacing Davis. Even Rush doesn't seem to get it, after all his lecturing to us about the importance of winning, that Arnold is better than any Democrat. Unlike Bloomberg, he's been GOP for decades.

Hold your nose if you have to, guys and gals, just take the Statehouse.

BTW, all of the above is why I hope Savage gets a grip and doesn't run.

Gee, I really screwed up my post there, as I also meant to say: 65% of FL voters have come to agree with Gov Bush on his One FL policy...
Nevertheless, I think you get my point! :)

Arnold is better than any Democrat

Tom Arnold, the actor, said on Hannity & Colmes last night that Arnold may decide to become a Dem after winning. Tom Arnold was just speculating, in response to a question by Colmes, but in that case - I don't see any big victory for the GOP here. The Terminator likes attention; that's about all I've been able to see so far.

Simon lost to davis by only 300,000 votes in a state where democRATs outnumber Republicans by 3 million, give or take a few.

Of the two...and in consideration of how unlikable he is, I'd say davis is the biggest loser.

Sorry, Bill didn't commit to reiniating the lawsuit to reinstate Proposition 187. There is only one candidate who has done so: Tom McClintock.

If that is the case(something I have speculated upon here), then he has a future in politics.

RE: "Are you talking about the verdict that the superior court judge threw out? Who should I believe in that instance, the judge or you?"

Believe the jurors, who voted 12-0 and 11-1, for the respective judgment against Simon's firm by Hindelang's firm (under B-R Telephony Inc.).

Unfortunately, it's all too easy to influence a judge in today's "LA Law," but I read the actual case file, so I gained a personal perspective of Simon's behaviors that his party-line defenders won't or can't acknowledge as the truth.

It's an unfortunate point on the road we've come to when a bona fide Conservativwe like Bill Simon is debased & ridiculed by other Conservatives & Republicans.

Dream on. Ahnold loses votes to Bustamante, Garimendi, Uberroth... there will be a bucketload of moderates in this one.

There is only one candidate with solid conservative backing from the organized conservative constituency that always has high turnout and made the recall happen over moderate objections: Tom McClintock.

I don't deny that conservatives are taking a chance on Arnold, but with Arnold in the race, no true conservative can win with the possible exception of McClintock. Everyone else should be smart enough to get out of the way. The only people happy with Simon's candidacy are the Dems and Gray Davis.

Now, if Simon's plan is to run an active camplaign and throw his support to Arnold or McClintock a few weeks before balloting........

Tom Arnold doesn't know that, he was just responding to the inevitable B.S. from Colmes. Arnold S. has been a Republican for many years, he is not going to pull a switch like that after trying to run an honest campaign. What good would that do him?

Simon "could win here" you say???? WHERE? In Oregon????? Since that's where YOU apparently are living, we assume you mean your own state.

Simon CANNOT WIN IN CALIFORNIA. Period. Get used to it!

As of 20 minutes ago, a grand total of 19 people are eligible to be on the ballot. The other 480 you're talking about had better hurry up and file their paperwork.

I think I will believe the judge given that the guy who sued Simon was a convicted felon who had failed to disclose that information to Simon and his partners when they hired him. Isn't that true?

Even though he's a RINO, I'd support Arnold if I were in CA just to win the damn thing for a Republican

And that in a nutshell is the major problem with the 'conservative' party. You could give a crap what they believe as long as they have an R beside their name. Tell me, how does that make you and every other person that believes as you do any different from yellow dog Democrats? Historians will look back one day and be able to say that it wasn't just morality, or just big deficits, or just one thing that destroyed the Republic, what little is left of it anyway. No, all these things are a symptom of the bigger problem, party over principle

They're aren't 500 candidates - right now there are only 20 who have filed the proper paperwork.

Actually, even including the dem candidates, there are only 4-5 really serious candidates who are capable of being Gov.

If Simon's chances are zilch at this forum (which they are) he is wasting his time. I wouldn't worry about him taking votes from other Republicans, because he won't.

The republicans have successfully split their vote between McClintock, Uberoth (sp), Arnold, and now Simon. The dems are smart and will let Busta have the road. I heard Garimendi backed out. The dems will win the election.
