In slapping a liberal bishop, this chaplain slaps all liberals....the Howard Deans, John Kerrys, Hillary Clintons, and John Edwards.

We should pray for this chaplain from the Air Force and all our chaplains. They are the ones who advise the commanders on the morals and morale of the troops. They know how critical it is to let the troops and their families know that what the troops are doing is honorable, morally excellent, and able to change the future of an entire nation.

Xzins
Chaplain (Ret.), US Army

These churchmen sitting on their fat butts out of the line of fire are just being the liberals they are. They have no business opening their yaps about things military.

At least my Church, Roman Catholic, has gone quiet after being shown up on the effects and outcome of the war.

They say the US is a bully. Maybe, maybe not; but, what they don't say is that we have been the muscle for these nations and who we have given lots and lots money to.

Oh, bump this one up to the top. FORUSA is very active in trying to convince the Useful Idiots that this war is unjust. In fact, they are selling a deck of cards with President Bush described as, "Dictator of the World."

A hearty Amen to this Chaplain for standing up for the truth! He has my prayers! His stand puts all the liberal, wishy-washy, effeminate bishops, priests, and church leaders, as well as the liberal socialist politicians who have abandoned the truth for social convenience, to shame. This man is a true man of God!

It is amazing how those who reject the scripture also reject the salvation of anyone in any realm on any terms other than their own.

Rejecting the truth, they believe a lie. And seal their own destruction.

Our Church (I'm Catholic, too) did not condemn the war outright, since the American bishops' statement carried only the weight of an opinion. It did not require obedience since it lacked the moral dimension of a teaching.

The papal statement urged caution, but quite clearly stated that the only proper authority to judge the necessity of war is the state (that's classical just war doctrine). The Church's role is to advise the state about what constitutes a just war; the state is the only entity capable of knowing all the facts and must apply the Church's moral advice to the facts (if we're talking ideal just war circumstances here).

You're right about our weak-willed bishops, though. Most have shrunk away into silence. Only the hyperliberals, being akin to those with Holocaust denial syndrome, still occasionally croak a complaint.

Are you more concerned about how the world views us or how we stand in integrity with those in the world who need us? Look in the eyes of those who have been set free; of those who have found the graves of their family members who were slaughtered by that regime and see if there is hatred for this new hope they now have in their lives.

There is an African nation who is hollering at us now for not getting involved to help bring peace as their president leaves the country. Would you let their opinion of us draw us into another conflict – because you are worried about what they think of us?

The state rightly controls the power of the sword.

But some would have the state use the sword exclusively when it is not in the interests of the state or its people to do so--and in so doing, betray the people by ceding its sovereignty and that of its people to the "United Nations."
