NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Friends of former Gov. Edwin Edwards are campaigning to shorten his 10-year prison sentence, but a key prosecutor says it is unlikely President Bush will pardon the Democrat convicted of extorting riverboat casino license applicants.
A group calling itself the Committee, which includes Edwards' political loyalists, has gathered 50,000 signatures on a petition asking Mr. Bush to either grant him clemency, reduce his sentence, send him to a halfway house or allow him to serve home incarceration.

Is it right and moral? let me think about that- (time passes) -- Well, the law says that if you can't do the time don't do the crime (or maybe that was Beretta that said that) so I guess since he did the crime and was found guilty:
HIS TAIL CAN ROT IN JAIL FOR THE FULL TEN YEARS!
What is it with liberals that they think they don't have to pay for their crimes. These people are going to be awfully surprised when they try this trick at their final Judgement
