Who loosed the dogs of Islamo-Fascism on the world? Jimmy Carter did.

Liberalhawk - the Dubya-Carter equation is incorrect. The State Dep't weenies hate Dubya, as they hated Reagan, because he (a) believes that good and evil are palpably real concepts, and (b) because he strongly supports Israel. There are old-timers, and their brainwashed minions inside the Dep't that actually pine for the "good old days" of the Carter Administration, when the "human rights foreign policy" fantasy held sway, and Israel-bashing was coin of the realm.
A strong case can be made for the proposition that when Carter took down the Shah of Iran (and make no mistake, the Shah went down because the U.S. made it clear he would get no help from us), Carter loosed the dogs of Islamo-Fascism on the world. Iran was a major country with oil, guns, and a large population. All were delivered, tied up in a neat little bow, to the Islamic nutjobs, and the number of dead as a result (if you count the Iraq-Iran war, terror, Sudan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, and all of the other nasty little conflicts attributable to the ROP) is heading up into the high seven figures.
Dubya has given us a liberated Afghanistan, a liberated Iraq, and a strong U.S. - Israel relationship.
No comparison.

I never thought it about it this way but it makes perfect logic. Jimmy Carter is the President most to blame. Carter is a democrat. Democrats are crap when it comes to common sense and national security.
We have Jimmy Carter to thank. If it weren't for his idiocy re: Ayatollah Khomeini, Islamic fundamentalism and Jihadism would be 10% what it is today

But he had no problem with the Soviets invading Afghanistan. Curious.

10%.
Perhaps.
There is no doubt that Carter gives free passes.
To perceived and known enemies.
And of course, there are those who applaud him for it.
This subset of humanity is best defined as "democrat".

Yes, it was Carter.
And let's not forget the hostage crisis -- that was our thanks for getting rid of the Shah.
Finally, Jimmy followed all that up with elevating the terrorist, Arafat, to world-leader status and began negotiating with him.

I hate to side against the author, and I would like to blame Carter more than anyone, the terrorists have been in our midsts for decades before that.
Take Sirhan Sirhan who killed RFK, this was probably the start of the "modern" terrorist. Then they hit the 1972 Olympics, and Israel organized and hunted down every lost one of those clowns.
And it goes all the way back to Black Jack Pershing 90 years ago.
Carter "only" fueled the hatred of terrorists for the U.S.

Bin Laden led jihad ????
Osama led the fight against the Soviets in Afghanistan? Who told you this?
Afghanis, not Arabs, defeated the Soviet Union in the 1980's.
If I recall correctly, not a single one of the 19 9-11 hijackers was of Afghan origin. They were ALL Arabs.

Furthermore, Saddam always coveted the Arab southwestern region of Iran, but while the Shah was in power never dared to do anything about it.
But Carter convinced the Shah's generals to stand down when the Ayatollah took power, and within a couple of months all of the generals who were at the meeting with Brzhzinski's meeting were dead. The Ayatollah executed some 140 Iranian generals.
That is when Saddam decided he could take the Iranian southwest, and launched his war.
The fall of the Shah led directly to the Iran Iraq war, and the decade of troubles that followed.

Yes, but it was Carter and his "Dr. Strangelove" Zbeigniew Bzhrsinsky that decided to "play the Islamic card" as they put it at the time.
I may be older than you, but I remember this well -as if it were only yesterday -and I also remember that I thought at the time that we would come to rue the day we ever elected that jackass rabbit killer...
