The prosecutor in the Kobe Bryant rape case says he has slam-dunk evidence to prove the NBA superstar's guilt, it was revealed on the eve of the hoopster's first court appearance today. Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert made that strong claim in court papers arguing against making public the police affidavit written to justify Bryant's arrest early last month.

Rita Cosby is claiming that her quote from the sheriff was before the gag order was in effect-she just didn't report it til after the gag order. She has no idea what all the fuss is about.

I worked second shift about the whole time that was on so a lot of these episodes are new to me. I haven't seen that one yet. I saw the famous "soup nazi" one, that was good. lol

Like the ones you are quick to accuse others, in a hypothetical way,of course, of doing.

Why are always using "quotations" on these threads, too?If you have some snide comment to make, make it, then others can get their licks in on you.You may enjoy it :)

I'm not having problems, you're the one that is getting so hysterical that you resort to a put down per post, even to the point of calling people bad parents.

The word "issues" bothers you? I type it that way because that's the way my kids say it, mocking people who have "issues."

And of course I have issues; my issue is now what it's always been on these crime threads -- dishonesty....from the legal system and the media.

If he stepped in front of the door-blocking her and refused to move-after being asked to do so-then he did imprison her in the legal sense. He did not allow her to leave. Of course like all reports, we have no idea if this true.

I don't know -- it seems to me both sides are trying to try the case in the media. It becomes a vicious cycle -- if one side starts it, the other side has to do it too or risk losing before trial has even begun.

Whenever a prosecutor has to begin trying the case before he is at trial, his weak hand begins to show. He is now campaigning for his weak evidence to stand up

How so?

Surely you expect the prosecutor to make his court filings and not apologize for filing charges but to stand behind them.

That is why I am leary, it is sounding like the justice system in Eagle county Co. is much like Boulder Co. its
sister county, that has never solved the Joan Benet
case, because they focused on the parents, and waited
for years to look for another scenario.

And now we have this accusation FROM THE ACCUSER that Kobe held her in his room against her will; for all we know, all he said was "Don't go right now" and stepped in front of the door. Everything is WAY out of proportion.

And "now"? Evidently it is what she claimed from the beginning and hence the initial arrest stated as much.

As to whether is is "way out of proportion", perhaps it is and perhaps it isn't. Neither of us knows for a fact.

Evidently it is what she claimed from the beginning and hence the initial arrest stated as much.

Since you're so positive about it, how about linking the article that described him stepping in front of the door, putting his arm up to block the door, and grabbing her arm, keeping her from leaving the room.

When he talks about it out of court, and begins by adding
up his evidence before a trial, and supposed key witnesses
and facts only he has access too, leak out in the press,
I become very leary.

A good case needs no leaks and no prosecutorial rhetoric,
prior to the actual trial. There are rules about
procedure, and I for one see many of them being
stepped on.

Perhaps you could limit your complaints to real posts, not start criticizing people for things they never said.

I, for one, would expect and welcome such an exploration of the issue.

No, I don't feel the need to post on every remark I disagree with,and yes, I think #3 is doing a good job. I think it would be more interesting to discuss what "evidence" is out there than to insult one another.
