What the NJ Supreme Court feels about reading their constitution is EXACTLY what the liberals think about the U.S. Constitution. When they say the U.S. Constititution is a "living document" they mean they can interpret it any way they want. People who believe that the constitution should be interpreted just the way it is written are called "strict contructionists" who are unwilling to read into it interpretations that just don't exist as it is written. Anyway, the NJ Supreme Court let the cat out of the bag with their recent statement. And remember, all liberals have the SAME thought about the U.S. Constitution. It MUST NOT be read as it is written.

This is Great! I will certainly use this legal opinion around April 15th!! Now where is their telephone number so that they can defend me around audit time?

Also, we can now read "No Guns Allowed" signs anyway we want to because, after all, there is no surer way to misread any document than to read it literally. Whatever that sign says, it surely can't be a prohibition against guns.

Anybody who gets a traffic ticket in NJ should use this NJ Supreme Court quote as a defense. Since nothing should be read literally you can interpret any law the way you want. You went 70 mph in a 55 mph zone? Well, 55 mph is only the literal way to read the sign. You interpreted it as meaning only 55 mph during school hours.

Somebody should forward this NJ Supreme Court quote to Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc.. This quote MUST get the widest publicity possible. BTW, at least the NJ Supreme Court does live by that philosophy as demonstrated last year when they completely ignored state law (translation: did not read it literally) and allowed a candidate replacement in the election after the deadline established by law was passed.
