TAKE A POLL DO YOU TRUST THE PRESIDENT ?
Care2 ^ | August 5, 2003 | Care2 staff

Posted on 08/05/2003 5:16:29 PM PDT by fight_truth_decay

Recent statements by the CIA suggest that President Bush knowingly used unreliable information about Iraq during his 2003 State of the Union address to increase public and congressional support for war. And just recently, the President stated that he took responsibility for his comments, but it is still unclear exactly how much he knew. How has this affected your opinions of the President?

Do you think the President provided Americans with accurate information about the threat posed by Iraq before the U.S. invasion?

No, he tried to mislead people into thinking Iraq posed a greater threat than the available evidence suggested.

I think he gave faulty information about the seriousness of the threat, but by mistake.

Yes, he provided accurate information.

Do you trust the President more or less than you did before the Iraq war?

More.

Less.

The same.

No American who believes in the Constitution should trust the President (or government). This being said, the President's #1 responsibility is the protection of the American people, even if it means lying in his state of the union address (which I don't believe he did lie).

Hey at least they provided the choice "he provided accurate information".

The CNN poll has only the first two choices.

I don't like the poll. How about, "He used information that was verified by our allies, the British, and which they STILL stand by?" YES.

"He uttered a truthful statement in the SOTU." YES.

"This is all a bunch of crap from leftist know-nothings who are so desperate to return to power that no LIE on their part is too big to utter." YES.

Obviously a very partisan poll result. DU must have been there first, and are working harder than we are. Generally, in spite of the media's attempts to make the public distrust him, I doubt most do in real life!

The Left has caught on to our Poll FReeping and they must have developed a much broader network to alert folks to polls. It will be very difficult for a conservative viewpoint to prevail in an online poll.

Care2 is a environmentalist/activism site with a large member subscription coverage..just a poll that they send out to a couple million people. No one is asking you to care ;), however if you choose to want to vote in this poll, we can make it closer to 'fair and balanced'. If you take the time to read their site you might understand who they are.

Respectfully

Thanks for the info. And judging from the site; I doubt if this poll will be "fair and balanced".

I'm so glad you are so well informed.
