Folks and FRiends, I need your help.

All of you remember the Bush-hating flash mob that burned a US flag and spray-painted anarchist crap on a monument (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/958088/posts).

WHAS 840AM in Louisville, KY, a Clear Channel affiliate, announced during Rush's PM show at the 2PM hour, that the mob was headed this way.

I am asking all FReepers if they have heard, or can corroborate, this report. I need to pass it to some Folks I work with.

Your link does not reflect the typical "flash-mob." Flash-mobbers do what they do for fun and amusement, and do not wish to destroy property or make political statements.

Some "co-workers" of mine are concerned about two scenarios:

1. This is a cell of people using the flash mobs as cover for their Bush-bashes; or

2. It's just an isolated incident of a flash mob gone bad; or, the biggie,

3. The Left is going to start using the flash mob tactic for the upcoming election cycle, and these are the "proof-of-concept" tests.

This is a civil disturbance story I take a professional interest in...

When the anti-war protests shut down San Francisco streets, I was one of few people who was able to shove my way into a high-rise past the LLLs (lifeless leftist losers) who were blockading it.

That group wasn't made up of one mob, it was a loose consortium of different rabble-rousing groups that met for an early morning rally, fanning out across downtown afterward. My company shared my office building was because it with Bechtel, one of the "corporate profiteers" targeted for abuse.

Seeing the way that SFPD was handcuffed, so to speak, they declared it a success despite the fact that it was nothing more than a mass temper tantrum. When the media got wind of the flash mob that took place here some weeks ago, there were no news crews, no police reports -- just eyewitness accounts and digital photos of typical Sin Freaksicko goofballs whirling around and hooting like hyenas at a busy intersection.

My initial thought was identical to yours: "This is a road test, and eventually this is going to turn into a hit-and-run LLL vandalism festival."

I am a creationist.. I think things got the way they are just as it's laid out for us in the book of Genesis..

That said however, when I hear about someone doing something stupid like this and getting killed in the process, I am forced to admit...

A new thing known as a "flash mob" refers to basically a live Internet rave. Posts, emails, or IM's will co-ordinate a place, time, and activity.

Ex.: "Meet at corner of 5th and Main in Smallville, 10PM, go into bookstore, ask for prince Albert in a Can, applaud for two minutes, then leave."

Problem is, these mini-raves can also be set up for anarchists and Leftists.
