Evergreen student wounded in West Bank protest
By The Associated Press
OLYMPIA A student from The Evergreen State College was wounded in the West Bank during a protest against Israel's construction of a security fence there. Sam Tsohonis, 26, an art major at the Olympia college, was hit in the leg by a rubber-coated bullet near the village of Anin on Monday. Israeli soldiers wounded five people when they fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse protesters trying to cut or push through the fence.
Israelis say the barrier is needed to stop militants from entering Israel to carry out attacks. But Palestinians say the project amounts to a land-grab that cuts them off from agricultural fields, towns and jobs.
Tsohonis has spent about two weeks in the West Bank as part of a two-month volunteer stint for the Palestinian-backed International Solidarity Movement.
Rachel Corrie, 23, also an Evergreen student and an International Solidarity Movement volunteer, was crushed to death in March by an Israeli bulldozer while she tried to block it from advancing on a Palestinian home.
Marci Tsohonis of Wenatchee, Sam's mother, said her son was a friend of Corrie. She said she spoke to her son by cell phone and he told her that the rubber bullet grazed his leg and tore off some flesh. He expects to be off his feet for a few days, she said.
She said Tsohonis remains committed to staying in the West Bank. He hopes to paint a mural in a Palestinian hospital nursery that was named for Corrie.
"He wanted to do it to promote peace," Marci Tsohonis said

Wouldn't Evergreen State be the perfect place for a surprise testing of a MOAB?

Ah my local college is at it again. TESC is 2 miles west from where I now sit, and 50 light years left of Berkeley.
And just for more fun...our local and state governments (it's the state capitol) here are chock-to-the-block full of Greener graduates.
Fun, fun, fun.

He is 26 and still an undergraduate.
She was 23 and still an undergraduate.

Just let me know when, so I can sell my house...it wouldn't survive the blast.

They stay students until such time as they go into government here (state and local). They essentially run our city and state.

Ping. The locals are at it again.

If we ever got a Republican governor in this state the first thing he should do is shut down that school. My taxdollars are going to pay for this junk. I'm all for political activism on campus, but this is entirely run amok.
She said she spoke to her son by cell phone and he told her that the rubber bullet grazed his leg and tore off some flesh.
Compare that to what our soldiers are going through everyday. And they can't call mommy and daddy and have them send in money for a plane ticket out of there.

What do you expect from a college(?) that had the cop killer Abu-Jamal Mumia as a graduation speaker (on tape).

Don't bathe or shave for a week so that you can more easily fit in. Plus stay up for 3 days in a row reading Marx so that you'll be a babbling fool due to lack of sleep. Otherwise you'll be outted pretty quick, they can smell (literally!) people not of their mindset.

Just let me know when, so I can sell my house...it wouldn't survive the blast. I found this info from globalsecurity.org.
FACTBOX: "THE MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS" * Dropped from rear of cargo plane at about 10,000 feet.
* Falls with a parachute so the plane can get away, then bomb directed to its target by a global positioning system device.
* Has a device similar to Doppler radar that tells it when to explode, usually igniting several hundred feet in the air to create maximum effect.
* Explosives inside are called Fuel Air Explosives, which spread a mist of flammable gases that then ignite creating a powerful explosion.
BOMB RADIUS DAMAGE
* Up to 1,000 yards: Obliterates everything.
* Up to 1 mile: Knocks people, tents, light buildings, cars and jeeps over within 1-mile radius.
* Up to 1.7 miles: shock wave kills people, causes severe damage to buildings, equipment, blows trucks, tanks off road.
* Up to 2 miles: causes deafness.
* Up to 5 miles: shakes ground, breaks windows.
* Up to 30 miles: 10,000 foot high mushroom cloud visible.

Just look for the VW microbuses with the "FREE MUMIA", "I believe HER!" and "Born OK the first time" bumper stickers.

You better act homosexual, multi-sexual, transgendered or demonstrate some such other form of confusion or psychosis. Otherwise they'll catch on to you right away. And you don't want to be caught "normal" on campus.
At least carry some pot around with you, if all else fails you'll be accepted with that.
