They stay students until such time as they go into government here (state and local). They essentially run our city and state.

There are tons of 23 and 26 year olds who are still undergrad. They are either paying their way through college, were in the military first, changed majors, or working on a five year degree such as chemical engineering. However, I doubt any of these apply to our young hippies in discussion.
