LiteKeeper has a database he tracks info. He codes threads with codes such as that to know where to download and organize his info to.

Can someone please list reasons to not ratify the UN convention for the rights of the child. I've read it and there isn't anything that sounds potentially harmful to children. What am I missing?
Also, isn't is rather odd that only two countries haven't done so (one of them being the world most powerful, the other possibly the world's weakest)

Can someone please list reasons to not ratify the UN convention for the rights of the child. Did you not read the article?
The UN thinks it knows better than local governments how to teach a child.
Would you sign a contract allowing me to control the education of your child?

I am a retired Army officer (artillery, MI, and chaplain). I have the privilege of teaching several classes in Colorado Springs to high school, college, and adults on comparative worldviews (biblical vs secular). As I read the various threads, some impress me as good for illustrating different worldviews. So, using some Army terminology, I mark "incidents" as "SPOTREPS" (spot report) and "descriptions of the current world scene" as "SITREPs" (situation reports). INTREP (Intelligence Report) provides information of an event involving those of the "opposition;" INTSUM (Intelligence Summary) provides more general information. When I get home, I download these SPOTREPs and SITREPs to a database for future use.
Does that help?

I'm impressed that you are so active and ORGANIZED (not my forte). I thought I was missing out on some computer lingo. Thanks!

"Can someone please list reasons to not ratify the UN convention for the rights of the child."
==================================
cc-c, The main one is that the Convention for the rights of the child states that, "No child shall be prevented from making associations with any of those whom the child chooses." {Paraphrased, but right on} Now, this in itself is a lie, because the U.N. bureaucrats WILL {DO} prevent children from associating with those the U.N. chooses. But, parents will NOT be able to make any choices in their children's associates. Do YOU want that for ANY child, let alone your own children?? Peace and love, George.

Since you read the actual document and couldn't see a problem, go to eagleforum.org and do a search on their own site for the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. Then re-read it in that light.
You need to read between the lines.
The fact that everyone's ratified it but 2 nations is no reason to go ahead with it.
The UN is anti-family and anti-God.

And supported by H.H.H. Clinton (Her Heinous Highness).
Another reason to run her out instead of vote her in.

In an interview with the Guardian, Katarina Tomasevski, special rapporteur on the right to education for the UN commission on human rights, said she believed the British government was in technical breach of the convention. The Daily Telegraph has been running stories about the increasing number of politicians and teachers who send their children to private schools.

If comrade Tomasevski is not a member of the U.S. NEA they should make her an honorary member. She sounds like she'd fit right in.

A crazed mob of diplomats angry at being made to wait for lunch because of striking restaurant workers rioted in U.N. cafeterias Friday and looted them of thousands of dollars in food, booze and silverware. And we're supposed to ask these people for permission to take actions to defend our own national security?
