Can someone please list reasons to not ratify the UN convention for the rights of the child. I've read it and there isn't anything that sounds potentially harmful to children. What am I missing?

Also, isn't is rather odd that only two countries haven't done so (one of them being the world most powerful, the other possibly the world's weakest)

Did you not read the article?

The UN thinks it knows better than local governments how to teach a child.

Would you sign a contract allowing me to control the education of your child?

"Can someone please list reasons to not ratify the UN convention for the rights of the child."
==================================
cc-c, The main one is that the Convention for the rights of the child states that, "No child shall be prevented from making associations with any of those whom the child chooses." {Paraphrased, but right on} Now, this in itself is a lie, because the U.N. bureaucrats WILL {DO} prevent children from associating with those the U.N. chooses. But, parents will NOT be able to make any choices in their children's associates. Do YOU want that for ANY child, let alone your own children?? Peace and love, George.

Since you read the actual document and couldn't see a problem, go to eagleforum.org and do a search on their own site for the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. Then re-read it in that light.

You need to read between the lines.

The fact that everyone's ratified it but 2 nations is no reason to go ahead with it.

The UN is anti-family and anti-God.
