This morning I decided to let BRAVO have an earful. Here is my email:
"As a DirecTV subscriber, I am notifying you I am permanently blocking BRAVO from my menu on my DSS receiver.
Your push for homosexual-'friendly' programming demonstrates your pandering to an audience that exhibits behavior that is not only detrimental to their own health, but the health and safety of families everywhere. I refuse to risk allowing my children to see promo material on your channel, so I find it necessary to block BRAVO and will encourage others to do so. Your advertisers will no longer reach me or my family members, and I have let DirecTV know of our all too easy decision to block BRAVO.
You may consider a homosexual audience on worthy of pursuit, but families who treasure their own lifestyles think otherwise."
I encourage others to let both BRAVO and their cable/DSS companies know that you're blocking their agenda-pushing programming!

Come on. I am a small l libertarian republican. I am who I am. Most of us mock those we think are being ridiculous. That is just the way it goes.
I think that the homosexual cabal planning on converting everybody theory is ludicrous. So I mock it. It doesn't make me a liberal, any more than making fun of Clinton makes one a liberal.
I can make fun of whomever I see fit, it is a Free Republic still (I hope).
You must not have kids. :-> Actually, I agree with your points to a certain degree. Civility should dominate any debate, at least it should if you want to have a good exchange of ideas.
However, we shouldn't be afraid to tackle any topics, at least any topics within the scope of FR focus. We're conservatives, we don't shirk from issues or hide behind PC buzzwords. We state what we think.
Umm...aren't there activists with agendas in EVERY population?
VR
Just a good judge of motivation, I guess.
Your astounding logic acrobatics cast doubt on everything you say.
Doubt me all you want, but you'd do better reading up on the issue yourself in any event.

Who do you think will get voted off the island this week?
So, either this show is unnecessary or they want to showcase the wonderful, glitzy, sophisticated lifestyle of homosexuals.
What about the long long list of other STD's that gays spread among themselves? Those were present way back then. In fact, as far as I can tell, even while new devestating sexually transmitted diseases keep turning up, none of the ones already on the list are disappearing.
Yes. That's my point. CarmelValleyite and some others are saying that they knew gays who weren't trying to "take over" anything, so no homosexual is. I think this current push is to advance the agenda of homosexual acceptance. It's probably tied into gay marraige. I'm saying that there are probably homosexual activists that will use this to their political advantage. Just like Jesse Jackson uses race at every turn to make himself richer!
Misspelling a few words is better than dieing of AIDs in my opinion. Isn't that the discussion? Plague distribution?
Of course, you're absolutely right. The Left will use any victim group to advance their agenda, and we should be vigilant about socialist programs being proposed currently by the Left.
For instance, the prescription drug benefit recently introduced in Congress is a socialist tool to allow the government to steal more of our income and create government-dependent groups.
On the other hand, a commercial TV show not subsidized by my tax dollars does not concern me too much. The leftist propaganda being advanced by PBS and NPR is definitely more insidious than any cable-TV show about fashion and interior-decorating; in the NPR/PBS case, I'm being forced to pay such leftist drivel with my tax dollars.
FWIW, I tend to shun most television shows except for sports. I just don't find it entertaining.
Why don't you go back to DU? Please.
And the only way they can do this is by perpetuating the homosexual stereotype? Wouldn't the format of the show be as successful or even more so using top experts in each field whether they were homosexual or straight?
Me and my liberal buddy had this discussion last year. He could not back up any of his (the same as yours) points, even when searching on the internet.
Now, that said, I believe that there is something deeper than skin-deep about homosexuality. It wouldn't have persisted for thousands of years if it was just a fad.
Now, with that said, homosexuality is still a parasitic evil on society and culture. It has the same unseen costs or alcoholism and illegal drug consumption.
We're all paying for Bruce and Percy to bugger each other. We pay in higher medical premiums, in money diverted from cancer or other disease research to focus on AIDS, in increasing medical costs in general, we have to put up with a coarsening culture, with the worry that our children will be seduced by the very people who should protect them, and, worse of all, with actually witnessing any gay "behavior" involving whips, chains, degradation, and exchange of bodily fluids.
