Party Must Strongly Reposition Itself to Regain White Male Voters' Support, DLC Advised
PHILADELPHIA, July 28 -- Dramatic erosion in support among white men has left the Democrats in a highly vulnerable position and unless the party strongly repositions itself, President Bush will be virtually impossible to beat in 2004, according to a new poll commissioned for the centrist Democratic Leadership Council (DLC).
The gloomy prognosis came despite evidence in the poll and in the assessments of Democratic elected officials attending the DLC's "national conversation" here that the economy alone makes Bush vulnerable for reelection. But Mark J. Penn, who conducted the poll, said that the party's image has regressed since former president Bill Clinton left office and that those weaknesses put Democrats in a weakened position.
Penn said his polling indicates that since Clinton left office in 2001, more Americans believe Democrats are the party of big government and higher taxes and he said Bush's handling of the war on terrorism has opened up a huge gap with Democrats on who is more trusted on issues of national security.

Hope this translates into a few Senate seat pickupsLike the slaughter in the last election. I have great faith we'll pick up a few more seats. Even Gay Davis is on his way OUTTA there! In liberal Ca.!!
Life IS good. Ahhhhh.

Even though it was the Republican congress that ultimately restrained dimo spending during clinton's term..It's too bad they cannot do a better job of restraining Bush's spending.

I've said it time and again. "Al Gores" invention, The Internet; is the greatest liability to the Democrats. Now a days, the lay man is getting his sccop via the 'net. Fox News' ratings fully show and support the shift in this country. But it wasn't Fox News that created that rift. It was and IS instant communication, better facts, un-filtered media.
Har! There be gold in them thar intarnet hills thar be!
And for what it's worth, those here that worry about what DU is saying, DON'T. By ALL means, promote what DU says. Spread it FAR AND WIDE. Their type, along with the BIAS media is feeding the cause to re-take this country.

Democrats Lack Crucial Support to Beat Bush What the Democraps really lack is any kind of coherent mission. All they do is whine and cry about how bad the other guy is. So where's their plan? (It's probably in Mein Kampf or something written by Lenin.)
What's funny here is that the DemoRats think that they have a marketing problem. They figure this is just a temporary setback. Heck, it's nothing a good advertising campaign can't fix.

Roger that!

Dramatic erosion in support among white men They're the most discriminated people in America thanks to the Democrats "division for votes" propaganda.
Why should the average white male vote for a party that hates him?

...expressed frustration that Democrats have been unsuccessful in making a case against the president on these issues or the economy... So misunderstood...we just can't get our message out.
Nobody pays attention...to our, our...what is it we're emphasing this week?...uhh...

The Democrat primary will feature a knock-down drag out battle between the "centrist" DLC and the far left. In both cases, Bush will likely win in 2004. If the far left assumes control of the party, and doesn't even bother to mask their tax-hiking, big government, soft-on-defense agenda, 2004 will be a breakthrough year for assembling a dominant GOP constitutency for a time to come.

It won't matter in the long run.
Amost fifty percent of our persons in the USA are working for the government, union or receiving benefits from the government.
Why do you think Al Gore almost won the last election?
It will be national security that will win for Bush.

Rush has been predicting 40 years of dominance by the GOP.
With that said, does it help everyone to realize why the dems will be willing to do ANYTHING to win this election ..??

The RATS have A White Male Gap. If only White Women could get over their worship of abortion, and vote the right way, we could build a solid majority.

My main concern with Democratic desperation tactics is their leveraging the media in an unsurpassed way to thrash Republicans. Yes, there's been bias but if they really want to, they can use the media to devastate the GOP. That's why we need to get our message directly to the people and why I started my website
Elephant Party . For all those who share the concern of a liberal media manipulating the 2004 election, check the site out. (Yes, I will be Plugging my site everywhere!).

You know, I've been saying all along that Hillary! would not run in 2004. I'm about ready to change my mind on that. Look at the evidence of
three stories, all breaking the same day:
1. The DLC, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clinton, Inc., announces this poll, and provides lots of quotes trashing just about every announced candidate on their side,
2. Hillary! -- just by coincidence, on the very same day -- announces the launch of her web site "to start rundraising for her 2006 re-election campaign".
3. Both Clintons announce that they will go out and actively campaign against the California recall, which will be very high profile for both of them. So if the recall fails, they will own Davis, lock, stock and barrel. If the recall succeeds, they still get lots of brownie points from California Democrats for giving it the good old college try.
Anyone who thinks all these things happened on the same day by coincidence is smoking something. And based on the above, I am now officially neutral on the question of Hillary!'s intentions in 2004.

Rendell also challenged the findings of Penn, who claimed Democrats were at a 50-year low ebb. Citing the election of Democratic governors in 2002 in states such as Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Arkansas and Pennsylvania, Rendell said, "I think the talent bank is beginning to be replenished." Meet Arkansas Governor Jimmie Lou Fisher, Democrat...
No, wait, that's Mike Huckabee, Republican. I guess Rendell is wrong [I'm sure it's just a case of the idiots at the WaPost not knowing that AR is the abbreviation for Arkansas and not Arizona-- which indeed has a Democrat Governor.].

Dramatic erosion in support among white men has left the Democrats ...What do you expect when the party has been taken over by male-hating feminists, pacifists, GLAD, and other assorted anti-red-blooded American male types.

Hmmm ... explains why there's so much Dem interest in restoring voting rights to felonsSeems like a natural blend to me. The democRATs are already the party of criminals.

They may cover it if it was news.
If Hillary runs, it may pump some life into these deadbeats.
The biggest reason none of the dwarves are getting any press is because they are more boring than Dole was.
