Wayne Newton was on Hannity radio last week saying how Bob Hope personally called and asked him to take over his USO duties and how honored he felt.
Wayne will continue a great tradition and wont let the troops down.

This weekend PBS was showing a commercial for an upcoming documentary about the life of Bob Hope. My wife asked me, "Is he still alive?". I told her that he is, but it's just a matter of time before he passes. I have heard predictions in the past that his funeral will be one of the largest ever.

I don't want to be the first to say that he was very difficult to work with...not the kindest man... in person...(so I've heard from when I was growing up)
I have people in my family that worked very closely and for a long time with him and he was VERY difficult to work with...
BUT......
God bless this great man.. He did bring a tremendous amount of joy and happiness to many.. and for that he should be honored...

Our loss is their gain.
Mr. Hope, you are safe, secure, happy and at peace in the Lords arms forever after a job well done.
Thanks for the millions of memories.

Godspeed Bob.
And thank you.

Please tell me that ABC didn't play the same "tribute" tape that they had made in the event of passing a few years ago. When someone on the House floor erroniously announced that Bob Hope died, ABC radio didn't confirm it and played the tape, then had to apologize a few minutes later when Bob's daughter called them and said that he was still alive and eating breakfast.

I had the honor of working in the clinic named after him...A very special American. His personal generosity was legendary! I'm very sad.

Din Imus is running a special on Hope right now!

Nine months after the United States's entered World War II, Bob Hope made his first overseas trip to entertain members of the armed forces. His travel to Alaska, then a U.S. territory, required a special permit.

This is sad. Thank you Bob, for the laughs and for putting love and respect in our hearts for the troups and for you.
To: Severa
He was made an honorary U.S. Veteran, by Pres. Clinton, no less.
I believe he's the only civilian deemed an honorary Veteran.

What a life he led, what a man to admire for the ages. Rest well Bob! We will remember you with laughter and nostalgia.
God Bless your wife and family in their need. Our prayers go out to them.

(I agree with Dick Morris, "Off with their heads" Let's start with the Clintons, all 3 of them.)

If one was looking for a role model, Bob Hope could be near the top. You never heard or read anything negative about him and he was married to the same woman since 1934. That is a whorelywierd rareity. He supported the troops vwith numerous USO tours in many confilcts. He was funny without resorting to vulgarity. Born in England, became American and the rest is history. Now he can reunite with Bing Crosby for some more "Road" pictures. The last of the truly great comedians. The current crop of "comedians" could take some serious lessons from this man. May he rest in peace. He's earned it!
