He'll probably release another audiotape in the next few days saying that he has sacrificed his two sons for the struggle and calling on other Iraqis to be prepared to do the same, one veteran of the Iraqi opposition observed. BS. If he did, it would be the first time that Saddam offered concrete details to confirm that he is still alive. Bet he still wouldn't mention what city his sons died in.

Cockburn fails the litmus test (and it doesn't surprise me a bit).
There is no doubt that the deaths of his two sons will be a devastating blow to Saddam Hussein, but those who hope that their loss will leave him a broken man are likely to be disappointed.
No, we're trying to use TOW missiles to leave him a broken man.
He'll probably release another audiotape in the next few days...
Sounds like a really good idea, what with us hot on his trail and all.
What was already a life-and-death struggle for Saddam is now also a blood feud.
Uh oh. Maybe now Saddam will put us on DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION.
Maybe Saddam should be the one worried about starting "blood feuds"... it might not have been such a good idea to try to whack Daddy Bush.

There is no doubt that the deaths of his two sons will be a devastating blow to Saddam Hussein... Even so, his grief must be extreme. Saddam has always been a family man... They were the only people whom he felt he could totally and unreservedly trust, and now he has lost them... Under his subsequent rule, the story of that flight, complete with happy ending, became the stuff of legend, books and a movie.... This time there is little chance of a happy ending. All he can hope for is the legend.Cockburn can't help but load up his column with sympathy for the genocidal mass murderer/torturer/rapist/terrorist/etc. If Bush thinks Saddam is bad, Saddam must be good. If Bush is happy with Saddam's sons dead, then Cockburn must be upset.

The entire article is a big democrap wet dream. Because rats think if America is defeated, they'll win back the White House. Never mind that America has to be defeated in order to bring that about.
Well, actually, there are other ways to bring that about. But in their MOST CHERISHED wet dream, America is defeated/humiliated/crushed AND they win back the WH.

What was already a life-and-death struggle for Saddam is now also a blood feud. Okay. It is official. This guy is stupid, ignorant or simply nuts.
It. Has. Been. A. Blood. Feud. For. The. Past. Twelve. Years.
Do you think that is clear enough? Or should I break it down a bit more?

Saddam grief-stricken over the death of his two sons? nonsense. These terrorist-types get off on dying at the hands of the enemy. He is probably still celebrating their deaths as "honorable, and good," as I type this. Did he love his sons? I am sure he did, BUT we cannot attribute European-American feelings of grief to this man. It would be a grave mistake on our part.

Didn't Saddam try to whack Dubya's daddy?
I'd say it's just the settling of a blood feud.
And now it's personal.....

"Saddam has always been a family man."
I guess the author isn't aware of the fact that the reason Saddam and Uday were distant was because of Uday's resentment over Saddam's mistresses even though he was married to Uday's mother. One can paint any picture when mundane details such as facts are omitted.

the late Uday, who, so Saddam used to quip, had been an "activist" from an early age."How cute. How so like American "activists".

He's not crying, he's not upset, HE'S DEAD!!
Saddam went bye bye early in the war, I almost guarantee it, he and his boys are having a party in hell right now.
We reunited them, not separated them!!
