Iraqis in Baghdad, including one with a picture of U.S. President George Bush in his wallet, rejoice after photographs of slain brothers Uday and Qusay Hussein were released and shown on satellite television, July 24, 2003. The U.S. military issued photographs of the bodies of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s sons Uday and Qusay on Thursday in an effort to prove to skeptical Iraqis that the feared brothers had been killed. "It burns...it burns!!!"

Hillary tied to her bed while a priest shows her that picture of Bush just before her head spins around.

An Iraqi citizen celebrates his acquisition of a rare George W. Bush trading card at the International Sports Collectible show, now going on at the Baghdad Ramada Inn through Sunday. "I can't believe it only cost me two Sammy Sosas. No one has these anymore. It wasn't a limited edition set of owners of major league baseball teams, back when Bush was a part owner of the Rangers."

Actually, one of the sad things is that our press is so busy attacking the president that we can't really use this to its full advantage. That is, Iraqis, like many people in the Middle East, are very personally loyal to their leaders. If we made it clear that Bush was our good, respected leader, supported by our allies, and - at the moment - is the leader of the Iraqis as well, I think it would do a considerable amount to gain their cooperation.

But to do that would make the US stronger, something the US media just cannot abide

What you said is so true. Instead of being so vindictive, the media could make a big difference in helping us win the Iraqis over and helping the country get back on its feet. As always, they choose the low road.

I was surprised to find the "Freedom Cards" and the "52 Most Wanted" cards for $4.99/ea. at the local convenience store awhile ago. Picked up a pack of each as a collectible.

Thank you for the ping and the post. Perhaps the press reached a tipping point and finally decided they had best support the troops. (^;
