Bin Laden Guard Got German Attack Order After 9/11

DUESSELDORF, Germany (Reuters) - A Jordanian man on trial in Germany on charges of belonging to a terror group said on Thursday he got an order to attack German Jewish targets just after the September 11 suicide attacks on the United States.

Shadi Mohammed Mustafa Abdalla told a German court he received a coded message -- "You are going to get married" -- to launch an attack on September 12, 2001.

Abdalla, who said he served as a bodyguard to Osama bin Laden before rejecting violence, has already told the court he had selected a Jewish community center in Berlin and a Duesseldorf disco owned by a Jewish businessman for attacks.

Federal prosecutors accuse the Jordanian citizen of belonging to Al Tawhid, a militant Sunni Palestinian group that the United States says has links to al Qaeda, and helping to plot grenade attacks on targets in Germany.

Abdalla said the leader of Al Tawhid traveled to Afghanistan on September 5, 2001, and returned to Germany on September 12. Abdalla said the leader told him: "You are going to get married" -- the code to carry out the attack.

Abdalla's cooperation should shorten the potential 10-year sentence he faces for belonging to a terrorist group and his testimony is also being used against four other suspected Al Tawhid members.

Abdalla told the court the group had considered using a car bomb for their attacks, but no one in the terror cell had the ability to build an electronic triggering device.

Prosecutors said members of the group were also planning to open fire in a crowded German city with a gun fitted with a silencer.

Abdalla said Al Tawhid in Germany collected large amounts of donations from supporters and passed the funds along to Afghanistan, where he said it went to the Taliban and al Qaeda.

He did not specify the amounts collected, but said not all the donors were aware of where the money was going.

German authorities have arrested scores of suspected Islamic militants and cracked down on militant groups after it emerged that three of the suicide hijackers who led the attacks on the United States lived for years in the northern city of Hamburg.

Abdalla, who had been living in Germany when he was arrested last year, already told the court he learned bomb-making skills and how to make poisons from ordinary household provisions.

He has also disclosed code words his group used in telephone calls -- "apples" for grenades, "acorns" for ammunition, "television" for pistol and "girl" for potential target.

His case provides a test for dealing with the limited number of Islamic extremists willing to feed information to intelligence services.

The revolutionaries Schroeder/Fischer, together with “King” Chirac and the opportunistic Putin are trying to reset the old Pinball game that the U.S. has forced into Tilt mode for the last 58 years. They believe that their anti-American rhetoric will show the world that it is better to be dominated by the old aristocratic, class conscious, ruling elite, which will let them eat cake, than being able to determine their own destiny by setting their own agendas, laws and purpose. Their goal is so transparent that it would have to anticipate a great amount of stupidity on the part of the former Eastern block countries not to notice their true intent. Gone would be self-determination, freedom of speech and liberties associated with the normal democratic concept. The only purpose would be to milk these new countries for their Tax Euros and to be indoctrinated into the socialist melting pot that is called the EU ?
The “old Europeans “have shown time and time again, that their goal is to create different classes within their societies. The Master race concept was a failure and reinstituting it won’t work again this time around. The “Krautiots” for instance want to have someone else work for them while they can collect the ample Government subsidy, just like it should be awarded to these Super humans. They determined to abandon Atomic Energy, only to encourage other countries to build new reactors from which they can purchase cheap energy. They will do anything to show the world that they are ecologically pure and socially just.
Well, History does have a way of repeating itself, it won’t work this time either. The idea of taking over Europe without firing a shot to create Lebensraum has hurdles that neither Chirac or his new Komrades: Schroeder, Fischer and Putin will be able to overcome. To bank on the stupidity of others for your own gain has always been futile.
In my opinion, the new EU constitution will ultimately create another revolution down the road. At least something good will come out of this. They should all collectively seek medical advise from their Proctologist to have a lobotomy. It may help.

Yea, that's what doesn't make sense to me. We have been told by our Govt. how sophisticated this group is. But there was no evidence that they had one time code pads or anything better than Sat phones, and box cutters.

You would think that with all of OBL's money he would have hired some out of work KGB folks. They could have outfitted him with a much better communications system, shown him how to get guns onboard, not to mention saving him a lot of time
coming up with much better terrorist plans.

I might point out he called a few countries "evil" and has "gotten away" with plenty.

He also doubletalks on protecting our borders while letting in a flood of illegal immigrant invaders. Do I still sound like a liberal?

He has also let the Federal bureaucracy grow by 4%. I'm not happy about it. Am I sounding like a liberal now?

I realize his strategy - but I think he's overplaying the hand and ending up appeasing the Islamic world. It certainly hasn't bought us any good will!
