AP) - The U.S. military released graphic after-death photographs Thursday showing the heavily bearded faces of Saddam Hussein's feared sons, Odai and Qusai, in an effort to prove to Iraqis they were killed in a fierce gunbattle this week. Two of the photos showed what appeared to be Odai, the older brother, with a severely bloodied face. He had a gash running from his left eye to the right corner of his mouth, bruises over his forehead. I hope Saddam sees them!

I saw them and couldn't tell anything about them. I believe that the bodies are Uday and Qusay but I couldn't identify them from these shots. Especially Uday...the head is so swollen it could be anybody.

If President Bush says it's them, that's good enough for me.

I'm skeptical that the pro-Saddamites will accept these phots as definitive.

Not that I doubt it's them, but really, these pictures could be of almost any Arab male in his thirties/early forties.

I hope they will release new photos after they have cleaned and -- one hopes -- shaved the faces. Although I'm sure shaving the faces will be taken as an unforgiveable insult to the Arab world.

CNN is showing the pictures with the caveat that the US "claims" that these are Queequod and Queasy. Not that they are, but that that we CLAIM they are. They really can't help themselves.

I think they need to give them the Stalin treatment. Hang 'em in the middle of the square and let everybody hit them with their shoes,throw pig offal at them ,shave their beards ,and let them spit on them.(don't leave out the camels!)
