Twelve Cuban migrants attempt to cross the Florida Straights Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in a boat fashioned out of a 1951 Chevy pickup truck driving it within 40 miles of the United States before they were found by the U.S. Coast Guard (news - web sites) and returned to Cuba. At first, I thought it was a picture of the North Korean's invasion force.

These are people attempting to escape Communist dictatorship, and our country sent them cack to Castro. Not too funny in my opinion.

This is a tough one for me...These men were caught and returned to Cuba by our military. While our borders MUST be secure...I hate the thought of these men risking so much for the freedom of America and being sent back to the "torture" they will face in Cuba.
Our coutry was formed by people from ALL over the world fleeing persecution to live in the land of freedom. We accept WAY too many people who come here for the "social" benefits. The result is we have no room to accept those who come with a love for freedom.

These are the kind of people we need in this country. Look at that ingenuity... That is a brilliant design.

These people were returned to a certain death sentences (if they're lucky). The Elian issue gave Florida to Bush. Bush may have just cost himself Florida.

Hmm, it's these refugies that refuse to conform to the American way of life. They get subsidized medical, food and homes, yet the common citizen gets screwed!
Send them back, let them come in leagally! Make them conform to The United States, not "bring" Cuba with them!

Cuban migrants attempt to cross the Florida Straights Perhaps you meant the Florida Straits. The Florida Straights are the two heterosexuals who live in South Beach, Miami.

Exactly-part of what made this country great was a form of social darwinism. Usually, the brightest, hungriest, ballsiest people come here. Take Arnold for example. Rather than be content in pristine Austria, his inner drive brought him here and generated billions (movies, fitness clubs, etc...)out of thin air.
I may be biased (my wife is Cuban), but every Cuban I have ever met has strong family values, works their tails off, and contributes to society. Some of the most patriotic poeople you will ever meet escaped from some communist hellhole.
