THE CANTEEN SPORTS CORNER SPECIAL

Do you love cars, motorcycles, and music? Today is your thread. We wanted to share with our troops a little reminder of home. As they are defending our freedom, we wanted to bring them some really cool choices for transportation. We've also asked some familiar names to share their favorite cars, motorcycles, and music. We'll share that with you a little further down. As usual, we provide links on the left and right hand side. The regular sports links are on the right. Click on the images and hyperlinks. A special thank you to MoJo's 8 year old son, Bobby. If you like the cars and motorcycles on this thread, you can thank him. He thought his mommy didn't have a clue and decided to help her out. Thank you, Bobby! (Be sure to check out his favorite car the Dodge Viper. It is the third picture at the top!!)

Mine still needs lots of TLC. This one was on its way to the wrecking yard when I got it 8 years ago. It runs real good but is scary to drive because of the worn suspension.

Tower: "Eastern 702, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on 24.7"

Eastern 702: "Tower, Eastern 702 switching to Departure... by the way, as we lifted off we saw some kind of dead animal on the far end of the runway."

Tower: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on 124.7... did you copy the report from Eastern?"

Continental 635: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff... and yes, we copied Eastern and we've already notified our caterers."

Nah, Miss Feather, I'm too broke to own a car and I'm too young to own that car. However, I'd still like to see Miss Kathy's fabulous glaciers someday.

That looks like one of them talking cars.

Oh, sorry, I got confused, I was thinking of Mr. Ed, the talking horse.

As opposed to Hillary, who's the talking south end of a horse headed north.

I'm too young for that old jalopy. 52 isn't what I call young, but as you know from my posts, I've stayed young at heart.

There once WAS a talking car. There was a short lived TV series called "My Mother, the Car". Ann Southern was the voice of the car, & I think the co-star was Jerry VanDyke.

You're right. It wasn't short-lived enough. I saw about 4 minutes of it at the time it first aired. It had the reputation for being the worst TV show ever, and the reputation was probably deserved. The four minutes were boring, with completely lame jokes, and if I remember correctly, a laugh track was inserted after a line that wasn't SUPPOSED to be funny! Yikes.
