I just went in as E Rocc. If you've got anti-war lefties there, consider posting the lyrics to
Don't Tread On Me. I would but time is tight lately.

You wanna go to the Lion's Den? Go to Liberty Post. LP is a lost cause. You will not change anyones opinion there, etc.
Instead, focus your attention on other forums that contain the "wishy-washy" types who you can address, even when faced with lots of dissent from the standing leftists. I do this quite frequently, mainly at a PC forum I subscribe. My reasons are not just what Randall mentions, but mostly because FR is so like-minded I don't always get to have 'fun', if you know what I mean.
Also, check out the forums of newspapers, TV stations, etc. They are full of the misinformed.

Off topic, but I slammed our local library in a letter-to-editor for having 5 copies of Lying History, but zero copies of Ann Coulter's "Treason". May get published today...Good for you!
I haven't read Treason yet, but am holding out till my vacation next month.
Speaking of copies of Her Hillaryness' paperweight, I haven't been to my local library for a while.
I wonder how many copies THEY have? I will have to check this weekend.

I agree!
We need to pool our resources and information so we can counter these creeps.
As you and Pres. Bush say "Bring it on!"

You hit the nail on the head. My husband and I have been involved in conservative politics since 1971, and we are our own worst enemies, IMO.

I got a phone call from the head librarian this AM. She was very nice...just an oversight...etc. "Treason" just showed up today, and she will put me on the waiting list.
Funny, yesterday, I was told there was no waiting list.
Guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Reference bump. Thanks for the thread, RF.
To: mhking; Jim Robinson
Ping. Perhaps you could tell me how to make a ping list or something similar to one of your "Hold Muh Beer" alerts for a reference to create a database for all this stuff. If there's no way to make this exclusively for FReepers, let me know and I'll consolidate all of the information collected here into a page in my website. But, I'd really like to keep it in a sub-listed area that we'd be able to use when we need it -anyone can access my site.

I know there's such a thing as a bump list, but I've never used it and don't enough about it to tell you how. Maybe you can ask one of the people who use them?

Yeah, Liberty Post is quite a hot bed. LOL. But you want a lion's den, the BET forum would be in interesting place to try. =]
At the same time, I think I need to get my own head on straight first. My research time has been limited.
FReegards....
To: RandallFlagg
I agree with your approach- conversion. However, I would like to add a caveat: much time is wasted trying to convert hardened liberals. We are best off making soundbite oriented points geared towards the casually observant. Few read the paragraph-oriented arguments in discussion forums. However, if you can keep it succinct, it can work wonders. Here is an example:
SURPRISE: Democrats are Racist
*The only congressman in Washington who was a former Klansman is a DEMOCRAT- Senator Bob Byrd of W. Virginia.
SURPRISE 2: Democrats are misogynists
*Pete Stark, a California Democrat, once called a congresswoman a "whore". He never apologized for his hateful slur.
etc.
If we keep posting these things, it will sink into the mind of the most readers (most of whom are not die-hard political junkies, but still vote). It works like advertising- repetition, repetition, repetition. The form can change slightly- so people don't bore of it- but the content should remain roughly the same.
To: RandallFlagg
www.louisvillepeace.org used to have a "Discussion Page"
during the run up to the Iraq war and I posted there all the time. Got some of the Kentucky FReepers involved and soon the Patriots outnumbered the Marxists-especially once the bombing started! They pulled that page quickly once they realized they were being e-FReeped, LOL!
