The Quadratic Formula uses the "a", "b", and "c" from "ax2 + bx + c", where "a", "b", and "c" are just numbers.   The Formula is derived from the process of completing the square, and is formally stated as:

For ax2 + bx + c = 0, the value of x is given by

x = [ –b ± sqrt(b^2 – 4ac) ] / 2a

1998 - U.S. scientists at the University of Hawaii turned out more than 50 "carbon-copy" mice, with a cloning technique.

Morning SouthernHawk. Where is that LadyHawk? Haven't seen her at the Canteen. BTW, IMHO, Woody is a freaky dude! Smoked to much funky stuff or dropped on his head one to many times.

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:

A shoplifter was caught red handed trying to steal a watch from an exclusive jewelry store.

"Listen," said the shoplifter, I know you don't want any trouble here, what if I just buy the watch and we can forgot about this?"

The manager agreed and wrote up the sales slip.

The crook looked at the slip and said, "This is a little more than I intended to spend.

Can you show me something less expensive?"

Here's another attempt but hopefully less feeble(Yours wasn't that feeble but I've heard that joke about a million times so it seemed feeble to me):
The Captain calls in the Sergeant and tells him to tell Private Jones that his mother just died.
So the Sergeant calls for the morning formation and lines up all the troops.
He says, "Johnson report to the mess hall, Smith report to Personnel to sign some papers. The rest of you report to the Motor Pool for maintenance. Oh and Jones, your mother died. Report to the commander."
Later that day, the Captain calls the Sergeant into his office, "Sergeant that was a pretty tactless way to inform Private Jones of his mother's death. try to be more tactful next time." "Yes, Sir!"replies the Sergeant.
A few months later the Captain calls the Sergeant into his office, "Sergeant, I've just received a report that Private Smith's mother just died. Please inform him of this and be more tactful about doing it." "Yes, Sir!"
So the Sergeant lines up the men and says, "Everyone with a mother take 2 steps forward. Not so fast, Smith."
