Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean wasn't exactly jumping for joy over the news that Saddam Hussein's sons Uday and Qusay had been killed by U.S. forces in Iraq.
"It's a victory for the Iraqi people," he told reporters, "but it doesn't have any effect on whether we should or shouldn't have had a war."
In comments covered by the Associated Press, the disgruntled Democrat added, "I think in general the ends do not justify the means."
Despite the good news for America, Dean tried to stick to his sour-grapes message, complaining that his Democratic rivals shouldn't have supported the war.
"Why is it that those in Congress have waited until now to question the intelligence?" he whined. "Why were they not asking these questions and seeking the truth nine months ago, before they voted to give the president blank-check authority to go to war?"

I think in general the ends do not justify the means The qualifier "in general" allows him the loophole to lie to justify his election.

The US has been pushing a very effective tactic in Iraq from the first day of the war. It's called, "Kill the Paymaster"
Most of the Baath loyalists were loyal because they received material rewards for being loyal. Those rewards are now gone. With the offspring gone the well has dried up completely

And then he went on to say it might be the signal for more killing of American soldiers by Baath loyalists!!! Just a little wishful thinking out loud by Dan and CBS News.As the proud dad of a 101st Spc. in Mosul, it would be a very good thing if Mr.'s Blather, Dean, and myself never get within my arm's reach.

dean has every right to be disgruntled...with the saddam bros dead, who will he get now for his vice-presidential running mate?
To: kattracks
"but it doesn't have any effect on whether we should or shouldn't have had a war." Howie must be equally unmoved by the latest mass grave found containing remains of all women and children, all shot in the heads. And all those Iraqi's with eyes gouged out, fed into shredders or electrocuted and mutilated have drifted completely out of Dean's awareness. If they were ever there in the first place.
Howard "Mr. Compassionate" Dean. (/sarc)

I do so much hope they are that stupid.
I can hardly wait for the Nation to Dismiss him and his party by not giving them a single electoral vote.

Oh Please Democrats, nominate this fool. Dean is like a slutty girlfriend--fun to play around with, but you wouldn't want to marry her. The dems will kick him to the curb when the race really begins.
