MSNBC: Alleged (Kobe Byrant) Victim seen bragging at a party 3 days later
MSNBC.COM ^ | 7/22/03 | MSNBC

Posted on 07/22/2003 8:20:57 AM PDT by Smogger

I just saw it on MSNBC. They said she was at a party a week ago, 3 days before Kobe was charged.

They said she was drinking (consumption by a minor) and playing cards, and was bragging about.....(MSNBC took out the audio at the end of sentence)

The story was confirmed by 5 people at separate places and times who were at the party and all gave a similar account of what happened.

When asked how the girl looked, the guy interviewed said she looked happy. Everyone was shocked to see her at the party given the incident.

I think someone may have even asked how hung was Kobe upon which she described with hand gestures. She seemed to be bragging according to a friend, but said she couldn't tell them what happened that night.

This just keeps getting better and better...

So you think DW was setup.

I told you I didn't follow the case.
NO facts - No opinion...try it, you'll appear less foolish.

I still want to know. Do women enjoy buggering so much that they will come on this board and say that buggering them against their will is not a crime?

Sorry, CCG, but your theory is rooted in fantasy, not reality.

I know several women who were raped, assaulted, or had someone attempt to assault them (myself included). Their perpetrators were all someone they knew, not strangers.

True story: back in college, an idiot blew a red light, totaled my car, and landed me in the hospital with a damaged knee, whiplash, and mild concussion. Hobbling around with a leg brace was no picnic, and I wedged a borrowed car into a tight spot because Mr./Ms. Porsche had to use two spaces to park.

When I came out, security had towed MY car. Mr./Ms. Porsche was gone. Big deal, I had a job and was willing to pay the fine. Problem was, security was on the other side of the campus and I had trouble putting any weight on my leg. An acquaintance from class offered to carry my books and then to drive me over to security.

A real gentleman, right? That's what I thought. Boy, was I wrong!

After paying the fine and waiting to get my vehicle out of impound, I put my hand on his arm and thanked him for helping me out. He took this as permission to slam me against the wall and begin mauling me. I fought back, punching him and cursing him, and he beat a hasty retreat.

Stupid fool that I was, I didn't march right into the Security Office and report it. I was too sickened and stunned and wanted to go home, so I got in my car and sought the comfort of my parents, both of whom were horrified and enraged, wanting me to alert the campus.

Just a few weeks later, Mr. Elfreako jumped someone else, who did have the good sense to report it.

I regret only two things: first, that I didn't kick the living heck out of that freak and leave him in a pool of his own blood, and second, that I didn't report it immediately.

"KB's street cred is up. Another women comes to his side. "

Why does it matter to you whether it's a man or woman giving the opinion? That's totally irrevelent.

Ok. I just see so many that claim to be neutral but always seem to find Kobe's side to illustrate. I jumped on you a too quick.

I would speculate that this is b/c daily, we learn more about the accuser, the prosecutor, the friends, etc. so it generates more interesting discussion.

So far, we haven't learned much more than we knew about Kobe, other than that he is an adulterer.

Whether this is a function of the Kobe Legal Defense PR machine trashing the accuser, or a function of the various revelations showing that our original perception of the girl may not be 100% correct (i.e. groupie / party girl vs. responsible, sweet, etc.), I don't know.

So, if another woman came forward and said "I used to see Kobe on the road, but he got rough one night..." you would see the volume on your side of the debate increase.

In the end, neither proves guilt or innocent on either party's part. It simply bolsters the opinions of one side or the other.

Only the truth can be certain. Without facts that prove something one way or the other, or allows one to reasonably conclude one thing or the other despite original opinions, all is mere speculation. The speculation coming from both sides of the debate and from the most opinionated is rather malicious and extreme, given what we know. This is people trying to justify their opinion by unfairly increasing the significance of what they think they know and making it more relevant to this case than is justified, given the lack of knowledge about what actually happened in that hotel room.

"Interesting. This is the third poster I've bumped into on these Kobe threads who's signed up within the past two days."

There have been a lot of people sign up just for these stories because they are interested in the case itself.

I agree totally with your post. This girl was definitely not little miss innocent girl next door. Innocent little girls don't try to OD when their boyfriends break up with them. They also don't go out drinking underage at parties. And I seem to remember (someone correct me if I'm wrong) someone saying that one of her 3 friends in the Rita Cosby interview admitted they knew she wasn't even a virgin. I don't think she's as innocent and naive as so many others seem to think all 19yr old girls are.

"But then again, what do you expect from rapist loving women. "

You are doing the smearing here. Rapist loving women? Name the rapist we are defending? I think you meant alleged rapist. But unfortunately you already have him tried and convicted in your mind.

"She appears to have breast implants and a belly piercing."

And the implants were very poorly done. (yeah I know this will probably get deleted)

"If a girl has piercings, tattoos, and implants, does that make her fair game for a rapist? "

No, but it takes away that girl-next-door country moutain girl image discussed earlier.

What would make you think that? Something wrong with women having male friends?

Even I am surprised by CinFLA's admission that because Kobe is black he "looks like a thug."

Please, it's a mugshot, and Shep Smith didn't look too grand or pleased in his, but I don't see cinFLA labelling everyone else with a non-smiling mugshot as a "thug." Having seen the photo, the only thing I can say is that he has facial hair and is black. Ahhhh, yes.

Let's be honest, cinFLA has had a hard-on for Kobe being guilty since moment one. Compound that with his behavior of the WoD threads and he deserves a steady dose of "ignore."

"We know Kobe's TV appearance was scripted and rehearsed. He does need some acting lessons .... "

Who in their right mind would give a speech to the press without knowing what they are going to say ahead of time? You going to say Bush is a liar too because his speeches are written and rehearsed ahead of time? How about PFC Lynch since her comments to the press were written out ahead of time to read to the press? And since he's not an actor, he has no need for acting lessons. Heck, a lot of guys even rehearse what they are going to say just when they want to ask a woman out on a date. That nothing to do with anything.
