I would speculate that this is b/c daily, we learn more about the accuser, the prosecutor, the friends, etc. so it generates more interesting discussion.
So far, we haven't learned much more than we knew about Kobe, other than that he is an adulterer.
Whether this is a function of the Kobe Legal Defense PR machine trashing the accuser, or a function of the various revelations showing that our original perception of the girl may not be 100% correct (i.e. groupie / party girl vs. responsible, sweet, etc.), I don't know.
So, if another woman came forward and said "I used to see Kobe on the road, but he got rough one night..." you would see the volume on your side of the debate increase.
In the end, neither proves guilt or innocent on either party's part. It simply bolsters the opinions of one side or the other.
Only the truth can be certain. Without facts that prove something one way or the other, or allows one to reasonably conclude one thing or the other despite original opinions, all is mere speculation. The speculation coming from both sides of the debate and from the most opinionated is rather malicious and extreme, given what we know. This is people trying to justify their opinion by unfairly increasing the significance of what they think they know and making it more relevant to this case than is justified, given the lack of knowledge about what actually happened in that hotel room.
I would speculate that we are being bombarded by the great Kobe Spin organization.
