EAGLE, Colorado (CNN) --Hearing NBA all-star Kobe Bryant deny the sexual assault charge filed against him made his accuser "sick to her stomach," a friend of the woman said Monday.
Bryant, an all-star guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He has steadfastly maintained his innocence, and after the charge was announced Friday, he admitted having sex with his 19-year-old accuser but said the encounter was consensual.

It seems that many rape victims wait a while to report it, some times even years. It must be so very humiliating and terrifying. Other people often convince them to report it and that may be the case here. Knowing this kind of character attack we are now seeing is automatic, most of us would hesitate. And when it's someone with money, power, fame that is being accused...the situation would be extremely daunting. I keep remembering William Kennedy Smith and that travesty and that woman's nightmare with Roy Black and the Kennedy power & the media & all the rest.

The movie wasn't ordered until 12:36 a.m., supposedly she was home by then.

She'll get NOTHING.
transcript of Dan Abrams talking with the accuser's friends.
Look at this question from Abrams.
..excerpt..
ABRAMS: Janelle Medina, a high school classmate says, "I've known her for eight years. I don't believe she's telling the truth. She always had to be the center of attention. She wants a spotlight on her all the time. She told me once that she'd do anything it took to get famous, and I think this is just a publicity stunt for her, something for her to get money and for her to get fame."
It's over as far as she is concerned.

Who are they? Knowing that Kobe was called back and arrested on the 4th, gave DNA, he had to have told the police he was with the accuser. As far as his statement on the 7th he could not have been denying that he committed adultery.I'm sorry to be unclear. Some freeper posters declared that Kobe Bryant told the police without hesitation when asked that he had been with the girl, but it was consensual. I don't know what they are basing that on. All I was saying is that my own speculation is that he did not admit it up front (again--I am guessing trying to use common sense) because according to the timeline, the night after the incident the Sheriff's investigators arrived at the hotel (see my link at post #134) at 11:30pm and then escorted him to a hospital at 2:30 a.m. My speculation is based on figuring that if Bryant was cooperating and being straightforward it would not take three hours.

"However, what we do know at this MOMENT is that Kobe has a good rep and the accuser doesn't."Kobe Bryant has already admitted to committing adultery with a 19 year old woman. You consider that a "good rep"? Amazing to hear this kind of crap on a supposedly conservative forum.

Ok I see. But why wouldn't it take 3 hours if they were observing his every move. Or just wanted to give him a hard time if they believed he was guilty before all the facts were in.

Friends, does anyone but me believe that a large measure of blame for this situation goes to American women collectively? I mean, if women didn't completely throw themselves at athletes, rock stars, rap villains and anyone else with a little money and celebrity, would (relatively) good people like Bryant be so sure they could have their way with them? I mean, not to blame the victim but it just seems that the sluttishness of the average woman has increased exponentially...(I hear it already, 'why can't we do it since you men do it all the time, etc.; my answer: because you don't have a d*&k! Sorry. Anyway, women don't hesitate to criticize anything male anywhere at anytime; I think they're due for a little of their own in this case...FLAME RETARDANT SUIT ON!

Thanks. As I read further down the thread, I eventually realized I'd made an error. Yeah, I know ... read the whole thread before posting. ROFL
Since you and I are usually on the same "side", I was surprised to read your varous comments. Not this time, I guess. I think the guy's guilty. I will admit that perhaps I am projecting male behavior onto Kobe from what I witnessed in my youth.
His wife is so pretty, and she's sure loyal to him. All that hand-rubbing during the interview seemed to me that she was trying to give him the strength to carry on with his lies. (His lies? Duck! That's not fair for you to sling that book at me. LOL)

The only thing that made me thing her story might have some truth to it was the fact that I questioned if a nineteen year old could recognize the opportunity in front of her. Clearly, they can. Yes they can ---his wife was only 18 when she was wise enough not to sign a prenuptial when she married him. Very smart move.

Hold the phone: are you suggesting that NO investigation of this girl be done unless Kobe is found not guilty? No, but let's wait for the rape kit before we start the smear campaign. If the kit shows labial damage and bruising, combined with corroborating testimony and the short time together, it doesn't matter how many people she slept with in her life or how depressed she was before this happened or what TV show she auditioned for.
So why smear her now? I have seen you and others indignant at posters casting aspersions on people of whom it could more broadly be said that some criticism was due ...

It's Kobe versus the teenager. And isn't he like 24 years only? Not much over being a teenager himself ---and she was in her last year of being one.

"American women"...All of us? I've never pursued a famous or powerful person in my entire life. I wouldn't walk across the street to meet a celebrity. Why generalize, it's probably a very small percentage who are star-struck, and most of those are likely quite young.

which means she REALLY wasn't "aroused" which means she REALLY didn't want to have sex with him. They can tell the difference.I wonder if groupies are always aroused ---sometimes if everything is done within 20 minutes, the woman might not have even had time to be aroused. I can see where this woman might have been impressed that a rich celebrity was flirting with her but wasn't prepared to accept that she was just 10 minutes of fun and that was it. Even if it seemed she was consenting at the time, she may have regretted what really did seem like rape sex. I can see where her going to his room, going into the room, removing her clothes seemed like consent to him ---but when it was over and done with so quickly she felt raped or at least assaulted.

. I keep remembering William Kennedy Smith Yes that guy is a super jerk, spoiled rich brat etc ----but what girl would meet a Kennedy, drink with him, and then go back home with him and expect nothing at all was going to happen? Plus didn't she steal a vase? Nice girls just don't get picked up by Kennedy men.
