SUNDAY SUPPLEMENT July 20, 2003
GRAHAM LOSES NOTEBOOK
Confused On Iraq And WMD ___________________________________________________________________________________________
The most hyperbolic and unhelpful statement so far, some Democrats said, was the suggestion Monday by Sen. Bob Graham (Fla.), also a presidential candidate, that if Bush misled the American people, it might rise to the standard of an impeachable offense. (Jim VanderHei and Helen Dewar, Democrats Sharpen Attack On Bush Over Iraq, The Washington Post, 7/16/03)
THE MISSING ENTRIES
July 14, 2003: Suggested Potential Need For Impeachment Proceedings Against President Bush. Graham was asked if he would support impeachment if Democrats were in control of the House, which brings impeachment charges for the Senate to try. He answered with [a] question of his own: If the standard of impeachment that the Republicans set for Bill Clinton - a personal, consensual relationship was the basis for impeachment, would not a president who knowingly deceived the American people about something as important as whether to go to war meet the standard of impeachment? (Ken Thomas, Grahams Criticism Of Bush Misses The Count, The Associated Press, 7/14/03)
* June 23, 2002: Called WMD Threat And Merger With Terror Groups Ultimate Nightmare Scenario. What were concerned about with Iraq is its intention and capabilities to develop weapons of mass destruction, and the merger of that capability with terrorist groups, that is the ultimate nightmare scenario
(Fox News Sunday, 6/23/02)
July 18, 2003: Last Thursday, Reiterated Position On Impeachment. If in fact we went to war under false pretenses that is a very serious charge, Graham, a senator from Florida, told reporters in New Hampshire. If the standard of impeachment is the one the House Republicans used against Bill Clinton, this clearly comes within that standard, he said.(Graham Just Hints At Impeachment, Los Angeles Times, 7/18/03)
* December 8, 2002: Had Seen Enough Evidence To Advance Iraqs Capability Of WMD. We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has and has had for a number of years a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction. ... I think we have compelling evidence, both from technical sources and from human sources.
I have seen enough evidence. I dont know if Ive seen all the evidence, but Ive seen enough to be satisfied that there has been a continuing effort by Saddam Hussein since the end of the Gulf War, particularly since 1998, to s--re-establish and enhance Iraqs capacity of weapons of mass destruction, chemical, biological and nuclear. (Sen. Bob Graham On CBS Face The Nation, 12/8/02)

What is great is that today's RNC will use them and put out an article! In 2000, RNC was pretty inept and the reinvention articles came out of Austin. Hard to remember what did come out of RNC in 2000!

"What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. May God have mercy on your soul."

VERY clever title. The RNC is adopting a take no prisoners stance...and doing it with humor. The BEST way to get their point across! Love it!

"GRAHAM LOSES NOTEBOOK
Confused On Iraq And WMD"
Just had to repeat this!:)
If he's found the notebook, he's probably worn out a dozen erasers trying to eliminate the dumb comments so he can claim never to have said them.
Floridians are deeply saddened, saddened that he's our Senator.
To: windchime
Actually, I don't think the eraser will work - I believe most of his comments are in the Congressional Record.

Bob Graham's days as a FL Senator are numbered. He has shot himself in the foot trying to pander to the extreme left of his party.
Go back to you cattle ranch Bob.
To: PogySailor
If he does, I feel sorry for his cattle.

Thanks for this post ---- have sent it off to Orlando Sentinel -- we will see if they are brave enough to print it. I've been checking to see if they printed my letter to the editor questioning Graham's brain "condition" since his heart operation!! And that his words were putting our troops in danager --- so far not published -- surprise!!
