Ya know, if the tip that the Secret Service is looking into this came from the administration, then suddenly I am reminded of a picture of a Presidential(alleged) couple dancing on a beach.

Well, I don't think that having a bunch of Bevis and Buttheads chortling at the assasination of the President is exactly wht the cartoonist was aiming for. If it was, he deserves a visit from the Secret Service.
To: Derrald
Or, Ramirez is saying Iraq is a quagmire, like Vietnam, and the politics of it will destroy Bush. Who knows, which either means the cartoonist did not do his job well, or he did it very well and the cartoon is "thought provoking."

I said in a later post that I want it to be shut down with boycotts! Just like what happened to the Dixie Chicks!

I wasn't here back then, but what was the tone of FR when there were shooting targets that looked like Bill Clinton?I can tell you that many posts were deleted due to stupid comments by stupid people, even when it involved to slick. No President (yes, even his slickness) should have to worry about this.

Ramirez has been good at times, at others, not.Agreed. But usually I found his stuff to be lots less offensive and even mildly supportive of Bush.

It is a little frightening just how stupid and knee-jerking some of our fellow FReepers are. Most FReepers were OK during Clinton. But they got crazier after Bush, and much crazier after 9/11.

What next? Bush depicted as Kim Phuc?

Show a cartoon of someone holding a revolver to Hillary's head and watch what happens.

"...most people's reactions are NOT what the cartoonist intended."
And whose to say there weren't some thoughts regarding population manipulation. Given the times we live in, this is beyond the pale.

I gotta get off this thread.
I've never seen a FR thread so full of idiocy. People react viscerally, as it's so much easier than thinking.

The problem is LA is basically a one paper town, so the Times gets away with its antics. There is no real alternative, and that is a very big problem in a major city. Chicago, Boston, NY -- they all have 2 or more major papers. The LA Times, unfortunately, is the only game in town, so they rule.

Ramirez at the LA Times is pro Bush
As for the cartoon it is intended to be pro bush...
The picture in question that cartoon is copied from, is famed on the left as showing an evil South Vietnamese unjustly committing a summery execution of a bound prisoner
With Bush being beat up unjustly over uranium issue the cartoon point is bush is being unjustly executed on a trumped up charge by a kangaroo court ...
Picking and image famed on the left for showing just that shoves it right in there face....
Im sure the 60s leftover leftist LA Times readers got it.....
But Ramirez screw up in forgetting other might not
To: ChadGore
Hey you just posted an image of the President with a gun to his head - should you get a visit from the Feds?
