I think UncleDick has it right- this is a pro-Bush cartoon, not an anti-Bush cartoon.

I hope everyone here recognizes this picture. It is a rendering on one of the two most graphic images to come out of the Vietnam conflict (the other was the little girl whose village was just napalmed) and these photos changed the course of the war.

There's certainly enough paranoia to go around; that's the pomo substitute for truth and honor.

I asked on the other thread too. What was the FR attitude when the Bill Clinton shooting targets were the rage of the day?

I agree. The cartoon is pro-Bush and depicts politics, read dummycrats, as being out of order.

And that wasn't even drawn by Ted Rall.

Or Ben Sargent!

Actually, Ramirez is a conservative. The cartoon is pro-Bush, decrying the lib's attempts to indulge in character assassination through petty politics... there's no evil conspiracy here.

Thank you!

Ramirez is generally pretty good. He sure fell of the cliff here. Depicting the president in the manner is unacceptable to me.

An outrage.

Judging the cartoon in its entirety, the cartoonist appears to be quite sympathetic to Bush.

People who don't exercise care to study the cartoon in its entirety will either be outraged (normal people) or thrilled (liberals).

I hope everyone here recognizes this picture . . .

As I recall, the shooter was chief of police (or something similar) for Saigon and the man he executed had been apprehended for murdering a vietnamese official and his entire family.

Also, IIRC, the now ex-police chief lives somewhere in Virginia where he owns and operates a restaurant.

Uhh, so W is a prisoner about to be capped without a trial by the Vietnamese?

No, the toon is saying that the media wants to do the same job on America as they did back in the Vietnam days. Anyone concluding that it's a threat or even an ill wish on Bush should have his head examined.

If you want real ugliness, look at this one from right here on FR, strangely reminiscent of an insane maniac known elsewhere as JRadcliffe:

It is time to put President Bush and Donald Rumfeild on trial by US Citzens court, no doubt they are guilty and should be hang.

Hatred blinds.

But in the case of the LS Times, who would read it anyway.
