I could never believe that a professional athlete would ever do such a thing! He's been set up!
Just like the Dallas Cowboys...

Why did it take them 17 days to come up with charges? Should they not have known the day the girl reported it and was examined whether the evidence was enough for a charge?

How about the new highway named for Clinton in his home stste of Arkansas? It's a little crooked, and has a long yellow streak down the center. Be careful if you drive on it, it's a little slick. Manufacturers announced today that they will be stocking America's shelves this week with "Clinton Soup, to honor one of the nation's most distingushed men". It consists primariy of a weenie in hot water. |

I know nothing about this law except that this does not seem like rape to me. What was it? Oral sex? Grabbing her? One of his buddies did something?

We have been through this here in Cincinnati with the Bengals being accused of gang raping a woman. She was seen with them he next day having breakfast and laughing.
Athletes are targets of this stuff. And the women get protection from day one as victims with out having proven it in court.

Brad Piasley's "Celebrity" comes to mind here. I hope this didn't happn. If it did, and he's found guilty, let him suffer the consequinces. We wouldn't get community service, if that is part of a sentence, in a worst-case scenario. We're not celebrities. I've never heard a negative thing about Kobe Bryant and I hope I never do. Again, I hope he didn't do it but if he did, let him pay.

You'll pardon me on this one, as I do hope that everything is worked out in a fair and impartial trial, but this means that the media is going to go into full tabloid mode and we'll have to endure endless legal analyses of it on all of the major networks for months upon months to come.
To: Smogger
17 days to come up with charges. This sounds strange. Rape usually has apparent forensic signs on a woman. And it does not take that long to come up with the evidence.
I have a wait and see attitude on this....
