A controversy has erupted over a twisted new Las Vegas game in which armed players in camouflage hunt down naked young women with paintball guns - and even have sex with them after the chase. The creators of "Hunting for Bambi" charge up to $10,000 per participant for the "thrill" of chasing showgirls, who are nude except for sneakers, and blasting them with red dye.

There's more than one way to overcome a slump, some might be better than my prescription but none are more fun. And my prescription starts AFTER the British is over, he'd only miss a shot at one. Only thickhead around here is yours, can't even grock that for a player of Tiger's caliber not holding a major title for the first time in 5 years is slump city.

But for Tiger this is a sub-par streak, and this kind of stuff gets in a players head, that's why I prescribe the three B's (beach, babe, booze) anybody that can have ANYTHING in their head after a month of the three B's was doing it wrong.

You might have a point if he hadn't OWNED the field in the Western Open. He's playing great right now. If you watched golf you would know that.

Just like you would know he lost the PGA by one stroke last year before you said something idiotic like "The guy hasn't even been in contention for 4 majors in a row ."

You really can't get out of your own way, can you?

I thought the National Organization for Women was for Women's RIGHT TO CHOOSE what they want to do with their bodies. Of course if it were the NOW leadership running naked, the men would be shooting themselves with real guns.

What Tiger does with his girlfriend has no bearing on his status as a golfer. The guy is playing great right now and he should be playing right now (which he is). BTW, we left the slump retreat. Let's focus on the original disagreement. You wanted to give up for the year after one hole. That's just plain dumb.

It's just the Western Open. The top 12 finishers were at -10 or better. He's not playing great right now, he played great last week under no pressure at an easy course. No under pressure on a tough course he dumps his first shot God only knows where and barely manages to hold it together for the rest of the round. Tiger judges himself by majors, after 9 rounds in majors so far this year he's at +7, that's not playing well when it counts.

Just the Western Open? Again, if you knew ANYTHING about golf you'd know that the Western Open is one of the biggest non majors. It had a Major-Caliber field.

One under for 17 holes in the wind at Royal St. Georges is hardly "holding it together." If you knew ANYTHING about the British Open you would know that.

And Tiger himself says "Winning one Major means you've had a GREAT season." If you knew ANYTHING about Tiger Woods, or if you had even bothered to read the article that I posted and then parced for you, you would know that. Ignorance is never an obstacle for you.

It's not one under for 17, it's TWO OVER FOR THE ROUND.

Yeah one bad shot can really screw your day.

Tiger is excuse mongering. First time in 5 years he hasn't held a title. One major makes a great season for somebody else.

Here is what you said:

barely manages to hold it together for the rest of the round.

That is what I responded to. Trying to change the subject will not make you any less of an idiot. Players rarely lose balls at the British Open. Tiger got supremely unlucky and he dealt with it, because he is a champion. If you knew ANYTHING about the British Open, you would know that.

One major makes a great career for most players. Ask Phil Mickelson or Colin Montgomery. But, again, stop trying to change the subject. Where I disagree with you was your contention, after one bad hole, that Woods should pack it in for the season. That was an idiotic conclusion born from ignorance.

That's what I said and I stick by it. He put himself in a big hole with his first shot and for the next 17 managed to keep the hole from getting bigger but didn't manage to make much progress getting out. Not a bad feat, but nothing to brag about. Ending the round 5 behind the lead isn't dealing with it, you need to learn the difference between swimming and treading water. He treaded, which given how he started marks improvement, but he didn't swim. He's 5 strokes off and the placements are only going to get harder.

Oh, for cryin' out loud. It's GOLF already! You guys need to go outside and mow the lawn or change the oil or something. Get some air.

In light of the origional thread subject, maybe they should go to the center of a golf course with paintball guns and strip . . .

Presidio might be that dumb, not me. Paintball's travel fast and leave marks even if you're wearing the proper equipment.

Yes, giving up easliy works for fat computer programmers in Tucson. Those who would be called the best ever at what they do fight it out. I guess that is just something you will never understand.

Who said anything about giving up? Not me. And I'm QA, I tell programmers they're wrong, and get paid nicely for it. You should feel complimented, I tell you you're wrong for free.

I would pay too. You can use suppressors to lighten the impact. 1000 if ya get hit 2500 if ya don't. Not that I do that sort of thing. :o)

If you females were hunting naked men with paintball guns no one would say anything about it. Of course not that you women want to run after naked men with semi-dangerous weapons or anything like that.

Here are the players who had rounds under par:

1 Hennie Otto
2 Greg Norman
2 Davis Love III
4 S.K. Ho
4 Fredrik Jacobson
6 Mathias Gronberg

No real threat among them.

You would know this if you knew ANYTHING about golf.

The truth hurts, doesn't it? What do you make, $40k? Don't spend it all at TJ's Mr. Howell.

The only threat is they're all ahead of him by at least two strokes, Hennie Otto is up on him by 5. Now you can always count on Norman to choke and plummet but there's plenty of people in a better position to capitalize on that than Woods.

No sane person would have considered Mike Weir a threat to Tiger, yet he beat Tiger by 9 strokes at the Masters.

Only the most severe of golf fanatics had even heard of Jim Furyk, and he beat Tiger by 11 strokes at the US Open.

Sure on paper none of these have a prayer, but like Bergman says "that's why they play the game". The fact is that 1/4 of the way through Tiger is off the lead by 5 strokes. Yeah he's playing catch-up to a no name that doesn't even show up in the player index on the PGA Tour page (imagine my chagrin), but that's more of a negative for Tiger than a positive. Being 5 strokes off the lead after 1 is bad enough being 5 strokes behind "who the hell is that" is the kind of thing that gets in people's heads. And if you knew anything about... well anything you'd know that.

I think it's hilarious. I wouldn't do it myself - those little balls can leave quite a bruise - but if I were in college, I'd definitely consider it.

You probably have to use their equipment and those can be calibrated to be slower (i.e. lower impact) speeds. You can get a heck of a bruise even through clothing, usually.
