It was invention, it was fantasy -- and they [CNN] were making up the news.

All this is proof of the need for seperaton of church and state. Sell off the schools, give every kid a 10K voucher. Let those of us who want out kids to pray in school go to schools that allow that. Let the parents in NYC send their schools where they sit around an hold hands while discussing soy and hemp as the sole mean's of the planet's survival. Let our schools have rifle teams, let their do what they want.

This is the only solution. The problem, however, is that were I am happy letting the liberals raise their kids as they please, the liberals are not happy letting us raise our kids as we please.

I'm not suprised. I see things on CNN everyday that I say to myself..."No they did not"...but then I realize that CNN is so completly discredited that they're nearly in denile.

Even CNN has the good sense to not give credibility to ideas from the fringes of reality.

At last week's hearing, two representatives from the Seattle-based Discovery Institute urged the board to correct factual errors in biology textbooks and require that books discuss flaws in evolutionary theory. Discovery Institute's Dr. John West says CNN reported the hearing as a battle between "nasty religious fundamentalists" who wanted to inject the Bible into science textbooks and "enlightened scientists" who wanted to keep that from happening.

But West says not one person who testified before the board advocated creationism, Intelligent Design theory, or including religion in biology textbooks.

Care to say a few words about what the Discovery Institute really advocates?

CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF:

Where is the separation?

Normally if someone says CNN lied, I assume it is likely the case. But in this case it involves the notorious advocates of Intelligent Design who's whole movement is covered by a big lie. They pretend to be "scientific" but they are just dishonest creationists.

Presumably, if it were a public meeting, there were minutes taken, and the statements made were submitted also in writing to be part of the public record?

More shoddy journalism. After airing their initial segment getting everyone in a tizzy, will they bother taking the blame? Bet they won't say a word about it much less give it the same air time as they did with their lies. The damage is done and no one will remember any retraction.

"They had a story that they wanted to tell, which was religion versus science, and when the facts didn't fit that, they just made it up. This is just atrocious."

No, this is just the Communist News Network.

Exactly what time and date did this CNN report take place? Transcripts are available.

"It was invention, it was fantasy -- and they [CNN] were making up the news."

That is nothing new. Anyone who takes what CNN reports as fact without checking it with other sources is a koolaid drinker.

"This doesn't even rise to the level of journalism. Really, it's sheer fantasy,"

There seems to be a lot of that going around lately, and not just at CNN! The media feeding frenzy going on is on all of the stations, including Fox. I have no faith in any of them anymore.

No surprise here, evolutionists have been using lies to promote their theory since the first day of publication of "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life".
