Michigan State Police say Scott Woodring is dead. Woodring is accused in the shooting death of Michigan State Trooper Kevin Marshall.
Police say Woodring was found early Sunday morning in a car at Maple Island Road and 60th Street in Dayton Township on the Newaygo County line. Police say Woodring got out of the car when police approached and pointed an assault rifle at police. That's when police shot and killed Woodring.
The standoff between police and Woodring began last Sunday. That's when police tried to serve Woodring a warrant at his Dayton Township home on charges of accosting children for immoral purposes. During the standoff on Monday, police say Woodring shot and killed Trooper Marshall. On Tuesday after a police fired a percussion round, Woodring's home burned to the ground.

But I think I see where you problem is. What you listed were opinion (granted, very common nutball opinion) and not fact.
I am entitled to mine.
It seems to me, the the only times LE is ever convicted of excessive force is when there is some passer-by with a video camera (Rodney King), or when someone with either a tremendous amount of money, or a contingent claim worth millions (Randy Weaver) is victimized.
I am not willing to believe that the only times LE ever uses excessive force just happens to be when one of these highly unlikely conditions is met. This in turn, means that every incident in which a citizen is injured or killed is suspect, especially when there will be no intense scrutiny of the exact circumstances.
How do you explain the recent incident near Baltimore when FBI agent Braga managed to shoot a completely innocent kid in the face, maiming him for life, and then escaped without any discipline? Or possibly you don't remember that one?
How about the family whose dog was shot by the highway patrol after they had begged to close the casr door and were not allowed to? Their crime? Well, the father accidently left his wallet on the car roof & someone saw it blow off. Somehow the dispatcher was convinced that this was some kind of new robery technique, where the perps threw money out of their car. I know, memory failure again.
What law enforcement organization do you work, for?
The sad part is, so is Trooper Marshall. The Freedom, happiness and future he and his family had before was taken, their rights violated by this petty tyrant.
"In Fremont, Scott," says I to him,
Him standing by my bed,
"They framed you on a morals charge,"
Says Scott, "But I ain't dead,"
Says Scott, "But I ain't dead."
"The copper bosses killed you, Scott,
They shot you, Scott," says I.
"Takes more than guns to kill a man,"
Says Scott, "I didn't die,"
Says Scott, "I didn't die."
And standing there as big as life
And smiling with his eyes
Scott says, "What they forgot to kill
Went on to seditionize,
Went on to seditionize."
"Scott Woodbrain ain't dead," he says to me,
"Scott Woodbrain ain't never died.
Where peeping toms are out on the prowl
Scott Woodbrain is at their side,
Scott Woodbrain is at their side."
"From San Diego up to Maine,
In every ditch and plain,
Where perverts strike and sodomize,"
Says he, "You'll find Scott Woodbrain,"
Says he, "You'll find Scott Woodbrain."
I dreamed I saw Scott Woodbrain last night,
Alive as you or me
Says I, "But Scott, you're ten hours dead,"
"I never died," says he
"I never died," says he
It doesn't apply to them at all...which isn't opinion, it's fact.
He was making a point, that indeed corruption and criminal cover ups do exist in law enforcement, and occur all the time.
Unlike you, who apparently believe's this case is already closed and the investigation is complete. It's not.
The agent was brought before a grand jury by county prosecutors. The good citizens of Anne Arundel County who perform their duties on that panel did not bring charges.
Supposedly we should condemn all of capitalism since there are shady businessmen out there making crooked deals, and we should condemn all lawyers because some are shysters, and we should condemn all of government because some politicians are corrupt.
Those of us who are not blinded by hatred and ideology can well see that the good far outweighs the bad, and there is due process and there are laws to deal with those who corrupt self-governance, but you are free to believe otherwise.

Well, if you want to "suppose" that, feel free.
The cases I cite apply to this case because they cast a pall of suspicion over any incident in which a citizen is killed by law enforcement of any kind.
They show that there is a clear pattern of law enforcement failing to police its own members throughout the entire country.
If LE wants the respect of the citizenry, they have to clean up their own act.
Think about the Ramparts problems in Los Angeles. I don't dispute that the people the police framed were bad guys and deserved to go to jail. I do feel that the tactics the police used were illegal and they should be punished for them. The net result of that little scandal was that a couple dozen people were let out of jail becasue the cops falsified evidence and framed them, yet somehow the entire LA police department couldn't gather enough evidence to convict even one of the bad cops.
One of the victims was paralized for life because he was shot--while unarmed--and then a gun was planted on him by the police.
No matter how bad the suspect, the cop was the real criminal here, and yet he did no time.
