Thanks for posting this. Let this be another end times witness to the world. God bless Mel. A lot of us Freepers have major theological agreements, but not on the incomprehensible grace God showed to hell-deserving sinners like us in allowing his eternal Son to suffer and die such an agonizing death to pay for our sins. And it was our sins, as well as the players in that first century A.D. drama that put him there. And He is coming again. He came the first time as a suffering sacrifice. He's coming again as a conquering king. He came the first time to save. He's coming the second time to judge. At the first time the serpent bruised his heel, but when He returns the crushing of the serpent's head that began on the cross will be completed. When He returns, ALL will confess that He is Lord, for some He will only be their Judge. For believers, He will be their Savior. The first time He saved us from the power and penalty of sin. The second time, He will save us from the very presence of sin. He is coming. No act of Congress, no resolution from the U.N., no decision of the Supreme Court and no mortal army nor the Devil himself and all of the demons of hell can stop this event from taking place. Ahem. Excuse me for preaching a little.
Psalm 2: "1 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 3 "Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us." 4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." 7 "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'" 10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him."

I've got one minor gripe with this film already -- based even just on what I've seen in this trailer.
On a physiological level, the film looks to be factually incorrect. It shows the soldiers driving a nail into the palm of Jesus' hand. In contrast, the image on the Shroud of Turin shows nail wounds in the wrists, not in the palms of the hand. Scientists who have examined the Shroud have used this seemingly minor detail as evidence of the Shroud's authenticity -- in order to support the weight of an adult human body, a nail must be driven through the wrist between the radius and ulna bones, mot through the palm.

I'm pretty sure they decided to add subtitles.

Thanks for this.
Awesome, as in "awe inspiring." I cannot imagine the intensity of those scenes on the big screen.
This is definitely not your typical Hollywood Jesus Christ.

What a powerful trailer!!!! I am a little dissappointed at the minor errors : Nails through the palms instead of the wirst, carrying the whole croos instead of just the crossbeam, etc. But I can forgive these nitpicks as it is the message that is most important.
And that message shone through loud and clear, even in just the couple minutes of this trailer.

As I've said, I'll certainly support it where it's Biblical, and certainly criticize it where it's not.
The brutality that comes through on the trailer -- definintely Biblical and historical. Not your father's movie-Jesus.
The woman crushing the serpent's head -- viciously anti-Biblical (Genesis 3:15).

Thanks so much for the post- I can't wait to see the movie. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to view the trailer on this old dinosaur of a computer... without an act of God, that is ;)
